Subaru Stars subaru_sti293 VIPEC v88 ECU with FP RED TURBO

It's about time to share my engine built with FP Red turbo 8cm-3" using VIPEC v88 Standalone ECU. Since I bought my car from the dealership August 2007, I started buying parts - modified to stage 2, tuned with 94 and 100 octane to get 2 maps on my AP Most of the summer weekends, I was usually on a 1/4 mile drag racing and hit 12.7sec with 110 Octane. I could get the same the same time using 94OCT when I wrapped my top mount with DEI gold heatshiled sticker plus grimmspeed A/O separator. Up to the extent that I decided to get into serious and joined the time attack circuit racing with my Honda friends. Consequently, I started to notice a problem like this - a lot of black residue in my reservoir. Yet, i just ignore those...I only changed my zero sport thermostat and reflush the blue coolant and went back to the track for how many laps. Out of curiosity though, I opened my hood and surprised to find a lot of bubbles mixed with black oil in my reservoir. Just said to myself "motherfather my headgasket is gone"! First lesson is: Do not put a 110 Oct in your car esp. on summer time. No regrets though.

What's wrong with putting 110oct in your car during summer?

Seems to work for everyone else

Nice build.

Be careful of those "titanium" retainers though. Sometimes they are titanium alloy and can be soft allowing the springs to walk past them and drop valves.
