I will do your motor probono on labor and parts at cost (or supplied) if you can get Alliance to hook me up with a custom set of big EQL headers

Why did you have to go new with things like the block and valve covers? Or was it just out of ease of tracking down some used?

i would def use a new case before a used one. the heat cycles and abuse can distort the crank line bore.

also if possible try to get a case marked AAAA OR BBBB.

if the sleeves are different bore diameters you will want to bore hone the difference so that the drop in pistons are in the same size bores...

the last case i seen new came BBBB. but mine is an ABBB.

luck of the draw? i wish you could request the bore you wanted...have the guy at subaru or i guess your using josh, to cherry pic a BBBB or an AAAA.

the blank halves were $200-400 more than what you were asking. I just decided i wanted to 1 stop shop at IIR rather than shop around forever.

have there been multitudes of cases of this happening?

if a company like cosworth sells and recommends them....well i trust them over a couple failures posted on nasioc.

There are so many things that can go into a motor failing....but if you have links to dual valve springs causing failures i'll def read them.

I search later and post the links later for you. Yeah there have been some breaking valves from dual spring IIRC I think Jays05 did,

heres jays....but really with a gt35 on e85 power level can you really blame the dual springs? everything in a subie engine at that power level is holding on for dear life There's lots of info in his thread over on iwsti. He was on a used block...that had already failed once...used crank....he was tuning it himself....his previous bearings showed the same wear indicative of a out of balance crank.....basically enough stuff in there that i dont know how you narrow it down to the valve spring.

These were Supertech black nitrided SS valves. Not inconel. Mick_the_ginge on nasioc had two occasions where he had bent exhaust valves in an otherwise well running track motor with these valves, and supertech just told him to use the inconel valves in the future. But Ron and Jr never had an issue with these valves. For valvetrain they were Supertech dual valvesprings + TI retainers. There were three different spring sets with increasing seat pressure - they were the ones in the middle.

I'll be assembling everything and the only thing that will be shopped out will be the valve job.

These better be some damn good headers for my trade . I think Kenny is going to at least owe me a custom intake manifold I design when it's all said and done.

BTW, it doesn't matter what any of you do, I will still be faster at Fontana cause I has the driver mod

cough, align hone...same thing I posted in your thread.

I like the heat cycled blocks, they are done cycling; unless you are going to crazy temps it's never seen.
