Ron have you thought of using the HTA86, a lot of fast cars on that turbo. subies and EVOs. hell watch Buschur's video of him hitting it in 3rd gear with his newer engine on the hta86. SOB moves

also you could try a cheap build with a 2.0 crank with 2.5 rods and pistons like Turbo_mike did a couple years ago, good for lots of RPMs

If you want a ride in my car with the HTA86 to feel it out, let me know. I am in Irvine so not too far out from Anaheim. I can say, it is a lot faster than my old 35r setup on the .82 and 1.06 setup.

bump for a sick build.

9's for sure, no problem

that tranny road seems money, I'd stick with what you have, I'm sure it will last. For the r180/sti axle upgrade, can you keep the current hubs?

um....explain to me the huge difference? FP claims "well beyond 75lbm"....not sure what to make of that......they seem pretty close to me. I guess im a retard though and probably missing something. Guess i had the journal bearing part wrong....but i'd rather by a true garrett piece for less money.

HTA86 = 75lbm+

GTX35 = 75lbm

http://store.forcedperformance.net/m...Code=WRX-Turbo

"The FP HTA***8482; GT3586R turbocharger is based on the world renowned Garrett GT Ball Bearing structure. This fact assures the highest strength and longest service life possible. At Forced Performance, we have long recognized the precision and excellence in manufacturing found in the full line of Garrett Ball bearing cartridges and turbochargers, and this is exactly why we choose Garrett over others manufacturers when we build our custom application HTA***8482; units.
This 62mm inlet / 86mm exducer HTA***8482; wheel extends mass flow well beyond 75 lb/min with observed power output in the 730+whp range on well prepared cars. This turbo is available with a variety of turbine housings, but using anything smaller than a .82 is stupid. "

GTX35 is a 75 lbm turbo

LOL, didn't you see my post in the other thread? Your compressor housing is useless for the gtx wheels. The compressor housing is different, you need to buy a new turbo. The only thing you can reuse is the hotside. The only option is to convert your 30r to a HTA30r but from what I seen it doesn't perform well. The best option is to sell the turbo.

The HTA86 is a great turbo it has gone 9.0@160 on a well setup EVO. Spools about 300-500rpm later the the regular 35r but you can make 750whp. From what we currently know the gtx35r wins on the spool department.......

Yeah and many more. The axles cost like 50 bucks and their are easy to swap so it doesn't matter....

Some people run upgraded r160, like the cusco one. I remember reading something about plating them to add strength....
