Default 2020 Volvo V60 First Official Images May Have Leaked Online

Just a few hours after seeing the first teaser with the Volvo V60, a couple of pretty revealing images with the all-new wagon have emerged online. Published (and then removed) by AutoMotoSvijet magazine from Bosnia and Herzegovnia, these low-resolution images appear to be showing the next-generation V60, unless someone spent some time in Photoshop to downsize the V90 formula.

Looking at the image showing the carís side profile, the new V60 appears to be nearly as large as its bigger brother, but maybe itís because the quality of the photo is far from being great. If what weíre seeing is actually the real deal, it comes as no surprise the new wagon from Sweden is a chip off the old block by carrying over most of the V90ís design cues.

There are a few subtle changes, such as the graphics of the taillights, the slightly different greenhouse, and the dual exhaust tips seen on the XC60, but overall it still feels like the V90 was reduced to a 75-percent scale. Not that weíre complaining as Volvoís largest wagon is quite the looker and this new V60 is shaping up to be just as nice.

Like its bigger brother and the aforementioned XC60, the next-gen V60 will ride on the same Scalable Product Architecture (SPA), which gives us a pretty good idea of what to expect in terms of powertrains. The top-of-the-range model will be the T8 with a combined output of 400 horsepower and 472 pound-feet (640 Newton-meters) of torque coming from a turbocharged and supercharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine working together with an electric motor.

Volvo has announced it will debut the revamped V60 next Wednesday, on February 21, before bringing it to the Geneva Motor Show scheduled for next month.

That thing is achingly gorgeous. I wanted a V60 before but it had too many quirks / compromises for me, ESPECIALLY rear leg room. The V90 is cool but massive and $$$. This may hit the sweet spot...

If that could slot in the $40-$50k slot nicely...

Is that the same size as the current V60? Looks big.

It should be bigger, I would think.

I wonder if we will get the plug-in T6 or just the T8. A standard R-Design T6 will be fine for me.

Lots of info on the V60 as well as a configurator on Volvo Us website.

They have way too many engine/turbo/SC/hybrid combinations.

I agree, I would just take a regular R-design T6 too.

+1.7" of rear legroom compared to the current/outgoing V60, that's 35.2" instead of 33.5".
Much better.
But, that might be too little too late now that we have the significantly roomier and cheaper Regal TourX...

Looks like just two engine choices for NA, T5 and T6 like the rest of the line up with a possible T8 to come later. No info on R-Design but that usually comes after initial launch. The are offering more interior options and the plaid cloth may come to NA.

The tour X will be bigger but it won't be nearly as nice inside (and you pay for that of course). Not sure when Volvo started offering massaging seats but you can get the on the V60.

I've inquired with a friend that works for Volvo NA HQ.

True. But, with kids, I think I'm going to stay from "too nice inside" for a few years . When I look at the back seat of our 2011 Forester, I'm like

I'll probably still have to wait on a used one. I don't buy base models so this will still likely be $50k+ how I'd configure it.

The thing is you know by the end of this year you'll be able to get a Buick TourX Essence for under $35k with 0%APR and while I love what Volvo is doing design wise I probably won't be ably to justify $15-$20k more money.

I wish Buick could make an interior at least as good as Mazda's signature trims.

Contrasting roof is the new "IN" thing with manufacturers. Volvo already does it on the XC40.

I am going to drive one before long but I'm speaking from a design standpoint. The seats and general styling look very pedestrian to me. Recent Kia and Nissan interiors look better to me and Buick is supposed to be "premium".

For specific examples look at the top trims of the Kia Optima, Nissan Maxima, Mazda CX-9...

In the end I may not care, the same as when I bought my STI the interior was pretty bad but I enjoyed the car.

I think just giving it the GS seats and steering wheel would really help.

If nothing else at least there are some wagon choices that don't start in excess of $60k and we need to show the manufacturers that we want them to continue bringing them over.

The V60 though just so damn nice.

I have to say that V40 looks really nice, and I usually don't care for Volvo as a whole (and the drivers that driver them). Probably out of my price range but still a nice looking car

That sounds like the standard Volvo party line.

https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-...arting-in-2019

Too bad. Guess I should order a V90 while I can before they make it fatter and heavier. At least it makes the choice between this and the V90 easy.

The V40 above speaks to me more than the V60/V90. If that V40 comes over, like that... ooohhh boy. And it will be priced properly too. Not a fan of the current "swoopy" one. Love the straighter lines, etc...

It has that traditional Volvo look... and I think it would look fantastic with this look...
