Once again I want to thank J J, Rick, and the staff of IAG for an excellent
job on my wagon Saturday. Their customer service is top notch and outstanding. They stayed beyond closing time to get my wagon done in the correct way. I definitely recommend their shop for anyone in MAIC. The ride home was fun today. The rotors and brake pads are amazing. I'll let you guys know a head of time when I'm ready for that tune by Jorge! See you guys at the next Shop Swap Meet!? ~LE OH! Just want to show that VA guys are going the distance to get the same Customer Service too. |

I also want to say thanks to the guys at IAG. Also stayed late for me on Saturday to get my BMW aligned and made sure everything was perfect with my Forester XT. They listened to what I wanted from the cars to get them set up correctly. Took care of the perfectionist details I usually only get when I work on my own cars. It is what very few shops do. Also did a great job tracking down a repair issue. It was a motor sound...which is a PITA to figure out from customer descriptions.
They definitely went the extra mile, have a great showroom, and tons of great parts in stock. Worth the 2 hour drive, Justin Wade 2004 FXTi |

Going the Distance!
Quote:
Here is the story: Getting up at 5 am, I drove my 05 Saab 92X Aero (WRX wagon equivalent) to IAG on Friday morning to have the 105k service done. Timing belt, water pump and thermostat replacement. As I said above, it's a 3.5 hour drive from Richmond, VA to their shop...So, it's not a short trip! I was very happy to have my friend Jon (big16gwrx) with me, to keep me company on the trip. They worked on my car in the morning, and found out that I needed a pulley replaced. It was a not pulley that IAG normally keeps in stock, so they/we had to wait a few hours for the part to arrive from Subaru. When the part arrived they went back to work my car, and finished putting the car back together around 6 pm. After that I drove to Centerville, VA to meet with Angus (Oodles-of-Noodles) to install Hella Supertones. Left his house and drove to Springfield, VA to meet with Ryan (labcoat), to get a front swaybar. And drove home, arriving home @ 1 am. A long and exhausting day of driving!!! Sunday, my family and I were driving back north to NOVA, to visit with my parents, and I took an exit to fill up the gas tank. And I noticed a thumping noise coming from the engine Pulled the car into a parking space and looked under the hood, the crank-pulley was wobbling around as the engine was running I shut the engine off, grabbed my tool box from the trunk, and set to work removing the accessory belts. When both belts were off, the crank pulley bolt easily spun off using my fingers. I spent the next 30 mins., walking from one service station to another to find a 22mm socket (I had my tool box with me, but don't usually have a need for a socket that large). Thankfully a truck service man had the socket I needed and I was able to put the car back together. Monday morning, I called J.J. at IAG to let him know what happened. He suggested that I drive back up there, to have the mechanic(s) look over the car, to see if any damage was caused by the loose crank pulley. I explained that it was a 3 hour drive to come back to IAG...So, J.J. said, Here's what I'm going to do...I'm going to send my mechanic and the IAG trailer down to you. The mechanic will inspect the car to see if there are any other problems, and make the repairs if he can. If he finds something that he can't fix while he is there, then we will put your car on the trailer and bring it back to the shop to fix your car. Edit: The mechanic (James, I think) showed up and went back through the whole install, checking wear on the belts, re-tightening bolts, check coolant level, running the engine to see if the crank pulley was damaged/warped and scanning with OBD II scanner for codes. Everything checked out OK! IAG has gone above and beyond my expectations! Thanks a bunch! Hope to visit you all again later this year Last edited by Rippen Griffen; 02-02-2009 at 03:05 PM. |

Adam,
Thanks for the kind words, especially in a situation like this. As I indicated on the phone with you, I can't express in words how sorry I am that you had an issue. I am thankful that you are being understanding about it. As we discussed, we have not had any quality control issues in the past but that being said, we are only human. Mistakes happen, but what sets a good shop apart from not a good shop, is how a problem is handled. I hope that we are handling the problem to your satisfaction. Again, I am truly sorry that there was even an issue to begin with. Regards, JJ
