I misspoke about the automatic license suspension. License doesn't get automatically suspended. You get a letter from the MVA saying you have to take a driver's improvement course otherwise you're license will be suspended. The 5 points are automatic though if you do plead guilty.

I got all this info from a......friend.....

OP: Post up a pic of that red car when you get it!

Yous other guys: I haven't been in a situation where I had to deal with this in a very long time but I thought your license in MD is suspended at 10 points? I got pulled over doing 94 in a 25 in which the officer lowered the offense so that it would come with 5 points. I also got a ticket for reckless driving which was 5 points. The police said these ten points will suspend your license.

I have also been written a reckless driving ticket and a speed contest on open road ticket and not had to go to any improvement course. I did however have go to a special court in Timonium to see a judge about if I was going to keep my license or not.

It could be my information isn't up to date. I hear running from police is a class C felony now in Maryland.

Now for some relative information: I've found that being polite, telling the truth and doing what the police tell you will get you outta all kinds of those poor decisions you make while driving in Maryland. Virginia.. Virginia.. Jim Bob's right! Don't get pulled over in VA.

I've always been as nice as possible, and never gotten out of a ticket (most were for tint).
And they've always come in the last week of the month. Theres some truth to that quota theory.

Technically (someone can correct me) they can not just pull you over for dark window tint. They have to get you for something else (speeding, tag light out, improper lane change, ect) first then they can give you a tint ticket to go along with it. I might be wrong and it might have changed but that's what I remember.
Incorrect. As a person who has been pulled over JUST for dark tint (twice), this is something that has been circulated around for a long time and it's false. It's not something they're typically going to pull you for, but they will.

Also, for the tint to be legal, you must get it approved by the Maryland State Police. They meter the window with the tint, then give you a sticker for each window - which must remain on the windows. If you put 35% tint on your windows, it won't be legal based on their meter because the factory tint + the 35% will put it somewhere around 29-30%.
