![]() I recently installed an Alpine ILX-W650 head unit and want to retain the factory steering wheel audio controls. I have the Axxess ASWC-1 universal adapter and made the following connections: green/orange to pin 21 brown/black, green/black to pin 22 blue/yellow and then grounded pin 23 yellow. I also connected the ground and switched +12v to the ASWC-1. It goes through the programming and does indicate it’s connected to an Alpine head unit but some controls are wrong. The volume- actual turns the volume up and volume up scans the presets on the radio. The center mute button turns the volume down. Has anyone tried this in a 2019 or 2020 WRX or STI?

![]() I’m ditching the ASWC-1 and going to try the idatalink maestro universal SW module. I already flashed it and will install tomorrow.

Just in case anyone else wants to do this on their 2019+ WRX/ STI the maestro universal steering wheel module worked perfectly. The software is easy to use and shows you exactly which wires need to be connected. |
