personally i'd go with an 06, but it depends on the conditions of the cars, how they were driven, how they were taken care of, etc.

I think the '06 is much more of a classic, but you get a bit more rear legroom and can have a hatch with the '09. You'll likely pay more for the '06.

'06 if I had to pick. Less common, cooler front end.

06 hands down. It will be tough to find a low mileage one owner with clean history though, which would be my criteria for buying ANY gen STI.

Not going to be a daily, and money no object, hands down the '06. If you're going to daily it, and price point is a concern, I'd go with the '09 or similar year hatch.

Also the 06's are appreciating in value now and will for the immediate future; You get to have your cake and eat it too! The GD's are going to appreciate even more when the next gen comes out with a new engine and platform, all the GENs in between are still in a relative depreciation stage, yet dont forget that all STI's have much higher than average residual values and less depreciation overall than most sports cars. Also an 06 wont need to pass emmissions after next year, which means unlimited modding without worrying about that. They could really skyrocket after that.

You can fit wider wheels on an Ď09 if thatís of interest.

how wide do you need though? 18's are a common swap for the GD's and give the car a more aggressive "footprint". Anything larger and its just adding unsprung weight from the larger tire/wheel combo. The stock GD wheels are light, probably the lightest base wheel offered on any GEN STI.
