I think Uncle Scotty has the same intercooler on his 06. If he doesn't chime in, send him a PM. I could be mistaken though...

the brackets for the intercooler to bolt down to almost line up perfect. it just the neck is too long. maybe because it came off a car that wasn't drive by wire

Is this with the stock turbo? You have to do some tweaking with the elbow at the turbo if you still have the td04 in there. Then you'll have the clearance for the throttle body piece.

i can slide it all together right where it sits. no kinks or anything like that.

it has the stock wrx castings on the bottom

plus i want to make this work w. the strut bar because it should and there is a cut out on the back of the intercooler where it seems the strut bar goes through

....unbolt and push the electrical harness right below the bpv outa the way(you'll see when ya get the stock IC off) and install it.....the passengers side bracket is 'off' by ~1"....ziptie and done

There is MORE room at the 'top'(aft) edge than on my '02

The only splitter that will probably fit is the Ver 7 one through www.rallispec.com, ask them though.

you do NOT have a CLUE, deeeeewwwwwwwwd.....no clue at all

....and bending the bracket a bit is a FAR-FAR better way of 'fixing this than destroying the IC....

YOU are the idiot mechanic that does stupid things, like cutting the IC, that all of us have nightmares about----especially getting a used car from someone like you that did insanely stupid things to 'fix' easy issues

....jeez

If I had to choose between zip ties and cutting the intercooler, I too, would choose zip ties. However, looking at those pictures, it looks like you can make up some very simple brackets to mount everything...so why cut?

.....uuummmmm....that's insulation on the IC.....and that IC has been off and on several times on several cars with several turbo's and still works just great---the hose is a bit....mmmm.....used.....so when has THAT ever been an issue.....and if ya unbolt and move that harness below the bpv.....I hadn't at the time of that pic-----it MIGHT just fit JUST FINE without ANY extra hackin of ANYTHING....or ya just too dumb to try THAT??????

....deeeeewwwwwwwwd.......I was wrenchin bikes and cars and airplanes a LONG time ago......and hackin a $500 part when it is TOTALLY unnecessary is just plain dumb.....is, has been and always will be.

intercooler w. very little cutting is in and everything lines up. pics to follow in a hour

scotty ur one of those ppl that think they know everything. it seems u need to be in control at all times. u get very upset when someone has a different way of doing things and if they don't do it ur way ur like a little 3yo that doesn't know how to react to it. so u just spurt out some comment out of
that thing under ur nose.

so to finish off i used no zip ties and no ghetto fabs.... so scotty. who has the cleaner install and used no ghetto eng.
