Default Newest Legacy Owner

Looks like I'm going the club here. I put down a deposit on a '91 Legacy Wagon LS and so long as Subaru doesn't find anything weird in the safety its mine. I know its not the latest and greatest but its still a nice car.

200,000 kms and the owner kept in in very good condition. The engine bay is extremely clean and he's touched up any and every spot of rust on the body [not that there was much]

A/C works, all the windows work, new rad, fuel filter, rear muffler.

How should the clutch feel ? I also have a Jetta GLX with a VR6 and found the clutch feel is very light and engages a lot higher. THat said it stalls right away when I popped the clutch in 1st and didn't slip under any heavy acceleration.

Anything to look for on these cars ? I gave all the wheels a good shake and they're not loose at all. Brakes are ok, probably needs pads in a few months but I don't expect perfection from a '91.

I bought this as my winter car and summer hauler so I can't wait for my 1st winter of all wheel drive !!

Will heated seats out of a newer model drop into this car ??

Hey, it's nice to see another Legacy owner.
I can't beleive the name you chose was available.....I would think that would be one of the first to go. Go figure.

I'm from Ottawa Ontario, Canada's captial. Certainly one place having all-wheel drive will come in handy from anytime November through till March.

I registered before I had a car so I wasn't sure what name to use.... tried legacy and it was still there.

Thumbs up

Congrats on the purchase of the 91. I have (am trying to sell) my wife's 91 L. Its in good condition, and was used as a commuter car. 111K and runs great. Just watch out for the erratic idling problem. I've heard a few people have it, including myself. I replaced the spark plugs and wires and reset the ECU and havent had a problem yet.

There is another message board for the BG/BF model legacies that will have a lot more info than this group. I think most of the owners that visit this board are MY95+. Do a search in the links and I bet you'll find the site I'm talking aboot (heh... canadian funny).

What are you laughing aboot?

Still a newbie... and happy not to be a post-whore like Keith.
