Default Has anyone replaced their seats?

New to the board, is this the "main" forum for Forester owners?

Has anyone replaced their Forester seats with an aftermarket seat? My S Premium has the side airbags. Anyone know what omh resistor will turn off the light?

I have a set of early '90s Recaros sitting in my garage and would like to pull out the stock seats. While the OEM seat is good around town and short trips, anything over 2.5 hrs gets painful. Are the '02 seat frames different than the Impreza or other year Subarus?

I contacted my local Recaro rep. and he stated that they do not have info on the Forester.

3 months and 3k miles later we love the thing. Not enough passing power from the 2.5 but enough of torque to make it feel like you are going fast

TIA,
Chris

I've only seen one in the US. Someone had some wild looking blue seats, wasn't it Imprezer?

Imprezer did have his WRX STi version 5/6 seats in the Forester for a while, but they weren't blue.

forester seats are identical to impreza seats - at least in terms of where the guide rails and mounting holes go...

so if you have an old set of seats - just go score another set of rails / brackets from the junkyard and you're all set.

thanks guys. I took a peek under the driver's seat and it looks like a pretty straight forward setup. I know of a Subaru specific salvage yard in southern PA, time to make a call.
