P2 Porsche wins at Mid-Ohio..............ALMS - Page 2

We talked to the Audi mechanics as we stood above them....

R10 Definitely in Lemans testing.........

Next year R10 the whole season and they said the R8 will be up for sale....Get the check books out...He said 1 million or maybe a little less depending....

Will have to post pis of a crew removing a GT2 Prosches engine and refreshing the heads on the P2 Porsches....and some other cool pics but not as cool as the FLYIN DB7

Wow amazing phots one of the first things I noticed was the small amount of suspension travel and we think some of our cars have a stiff ride.

It was great those crazy Brits were blaring disco techno music in their garage. I told my friend pretty soon they are all going to pass around some Extasy and hand out the glow sticks.

I really hate it when people put spoilers in the thread title.

A better (imo) title for this thread would have been: "ALMS at Mid-Ohio.....spoiler inside", or something like that.

I can't watch the races on the weekend, so I TiVo them and watch later in the week. I know to avoid the F1 and WRC threads until after I've watched, but this is the second ALMS race tat's been spoiled for me without me even clicking on anything.

Yeah, I've had that happen to me too. See the winner in the thread title. DOH! Not biggee though. That's what I get for being an internet junkie.

As for the Porshes winning overall. Pretty cool, but I don't think the rest of the compeition was quite up to the usual level. When the R10 comes back, the Porches won't have a chance. Still, good to see. I'm sure Penske and DHL were happy (cough....fixed!...cough

).

And I saw the video of the flying Aston. Holy crap!!

Seems like the runoff drops off a bit too much there.

The R8 is like 5 or so years old.....So doesn't surprise me the Porsche is new even if it was P2 and not P1

That is true the official school there is expensive, take a look at NASA and the BMW-CCA they offer cheaper options there a few times this summer.

It wasn't that long ago... I drove down the Mulsanne Straight

after the 2002 race and you could still see the trees flattened where the Mercedes landed the year before. Can't believe the guy walked away from that.

1999. And yeah, there were two flips and, IIRC another "incident". I remember watching the race and noticing that the front of the Merc seemed to get light in certain spots (not that I'm any sort of an expert...it just didn't look right).
