The B4 is a Legacy sedan model, similar to the L, LS designations here.

MYxx is Model Year whatever.

Open and closed deck refer to the design of the heads and cylinder block. Open deck uses a die-cast form and is cheaper and not as strong or resistant to cylinder pressures and stress as the forged closed deck designs. ALL 1.8, 2.2 and 2.5 flat fours are open except for the 2.2Turbo in the 91-94 Legacies.

MAF = Mass Airflow Sensor
TPS = Throttle Position Sensor
EGT = Exhaust Gas Temperature
BC-BF = Japanese designation for US 90-94 Legacies
