Default Should I fix or sell? (Impreza OBS '02)

I've got a 2002 Impreza OBS with 100k miles that's been in the shop six times since December. Sure, the mileage is high, but I've put over $1500 in repairs in less than a year. No two of these repairs have happened at the same time; every one of these has been a unique CEL experience, plus hundreds of dollars in labor for doing the actual repair. I'm trying to decide whether to keep the car, or sell it. Do you folks think that more repairs coming, i.e. I should just sell this unreliable car? Or have I had a run of bad luck that has nothing to do with expectations for future repairs? Here's the big stuff that I've done (from memory) over the lifetime of the car:

- replaced catalyctic converter _three_ times (I'm on the fourth cat)
- replaced front O2 sensor
- replaced vent control solenoid valve
- replaced ignition coil
- upgraded OCM (twice)
- replaced right rear wheel hub (covered by warranty)

Is this typical for a Subaru of this age?

The car also has squeaky brakes. I've been using a local Tires Plus near my office to do brakes work, and try as they might, they can't seem to find a set of brake pads that work. I've currently got Bendix pads, but they squeal away at low speeds. I'm trying to decide how much to keep fighting this battle. Have other folks had problems with brake pads?

my 02 wrx wagon has 125k miles and hasn't had a lick of problems compared to your 02. (knock on wood)

just hit a deer, but can't wait to get my black eye fixed up.
I'm planning on keeping my bugeye for as long as I can.

as far as break pads, i've had good luck with ceramic pads.... search around and you'll find thousands of opinions
