Have a Nice Day? Not real happy with my P Zero Neros

I have about 20k miles on them with my WRX and they are cupped badly on the inside. When installed I had them mounted and balanced and an alignment done. PSI should have been fine..never under inflated. I started hearing a noise and had a free rotation and alignment done. I have since then rotated them once more. The car drives straight and the steering wheel is perfect

So now I have 4 very loud tires Do these tires require this much attention? In the past I have had tires that require some air here and there and they wear just fine.

Looking to buy something else. Maybe something a little harder with a longer tread life. ( Even though these should have given me 40k+ miles) The noise is driving me nuts!

Any ideas/suggestions??

I have the same tires! with about the same milage or more. I do not have any loud noise when driving. Tire wear is not the best, but that is because I use them for autoxing everyweekend! Other than that wear seems to be normal! So far Im happy with the tires!
Have the tires rebalanced and aligned. Try taking it to another store to do the work. Could just be their settings.
Call up tirerack or the manufacture and tell them your delma! maby, just maby they will replace them!

Good luck!

Sorry, but this is almost certainly an alignment issue. All alignments are NOT equal. Find out where your local autocrossers get their cars aligned and go to that shop to have them check out your current alignment and correct the problem.

i had brought my car to 3 different places before i trusted the alignment...

I have the p-zero's and there is no loud noise from them. I do a lot of driving and the wear has been little since january. I keep the pressures at 40f/36r.

.....post some details so folks can help out. ......what size? .....what pressures are you running? ....what are your alignment specs? If you're "cupping", do you mean you're getting excessive wear on the outer edges of each tire? ......a sign of under-inflation btw.

I'm on my 3rd set (225/45/17's) and couldn't be happier. I killed my last set but that was due to an improper alignment.

My last set of tires were neros. Perfect tires. Great for autox and track days. Worked well in rain and actually did well in the snow (I had the m&s version). They wore perfectly also.

Yeah, I think you got a bad set or a bad alignment. I'm on my 3rd set and I've gotten no less than a very quiet and happy 50k out of each set.

I will add that my Pzero Neros have gotten very loud in the past few months of their life, but I attribute that to the fact that for a long time I was running a significant amount of toe out before I had an alignment done which wore away the inside edges of the tires.

So, I will agree with most and say that even though you had an alignment done, it's still not right. Either that or the damage has already been done.

.....toe killed my last set and the resulting uneven wear was most certainly the cause for the "dartiness"/increased noise in my case.
