Default OBX headers and exhaust set up questions

Ok first and foremost, this isn't one of those "Help! I bought equal length headers and now my car doesn't sound good!" posts.

That out of the way, I just got the OBX EL headers with the cat delete pipe on my car the other day. Before I got them I was aware of the change in sound and I am fine with that, the power gains are definitely worth it. I am more than happy with these!

A few weeks ago the hack job custom cat back exhaust set up I had started leaking. As a quick fix I put on my friends "old" 2006 WRX axle back mated up to a custom 2.25" midpipe.

My plan is to have a HFC welded into the cat delete pipe in place of the resonator (or just have a whole new section made).

2 questions:
1. Is the WRX axle back restrictive on this set up?
2. Would I benefit from getting a different axleback, both in sound and performance?

Since I have the custom midpipe made to mate up to the WRX axle back, I assume that means in order to not have to modify my midpipe I would need an axle back for the WRX. Is there any viable options that would be okay on a NA setup?

Currently the car is completely silent at idle. When I get on the gas, it is a bit raspy and high pitched as would be expected with these headers. I'm hoping to just mild it down a bit to get a slightly deeper more mellow tone.

I'm sorry this is so long, I just wanted to be thorough.

WRX mufflers are VERY VERY restrictive as it was shown on here a while ago (look for the WRX hacked muffler). i'd get a muffler off an STI, had it on my RS and i LOVED it.

I;m not an exhaust expert, but I would say:
1 - Yes, but backpressure is also important. No restriction would mean high-rpm power, possibly tuned to beyond where your engine revs.
2 - Probably. Strommung exhausts are very well received by Subaru folk, but they also cost a fair amount of money. A straight-through design will free up some decibels and some top-end power, but possibly at the cost of some low-end torque.

A good compromise may be a 2.25-2.5" pipe and Magnaflow or Borla muffler. IMHO, EL headers sound "good" almost no matter what goes behind it.
