Same as all the other mounts for oem bars. It's got the two half oval shaped clamp things that bolt together.

I ordred some 3M vinyl to put underneath the feet of my OEM Aero bars, and for the time being, put some painter's tape below it to prevent scratching.

When I removed my fairing, even after a week of pretty minimal driving, the fairing's feet scuffed up the clear coat quite a bit. I'm disappointed this happened so quickly.

I waxed at these locations, but was not able to buff them out. Any suggestions?

I think I am going to have to put some clear 3M protection there as well. For now, there's some painter's tape there too to prevent it from getting any worse.

I had the same from my thule failing. Not sure if it was the feet or from stuff being deflected onto the roof. What did you use as polish? I was able to get mine out using my porter cable DA buffer and some meguiars m105.

I haven't tried polishing it yet - there is just the painter's tape over the 4 spots for now. I'll have to start looking into products and try it out before I apply any 3M.

i don't have any pics but mine looked pretty bad. With a light cut pad and some m205 (not m105) it got it right out on 1 pass, definitely consider it. good luck.

No prob. Should be the same. It just clamps over the bar on the basket and the bottom attaches to the bars the same

I first tried Thule but they place the bars too close to each other (only 18" apart if I remember correctly!).

I really didn't want to do the rain gutter mod where I would be doing any drilling...so I found Yakima's rack actually spaces them out much wider. So I ended up with Yakima on my STi. Pretty important since I put longboard surfboards on the car often.

Hey guys, question. What would be the best set of mounts to mount a Yakima bike rack onto the top of my '05 STI? Also, is there a way to be able to keep the bike rack mounted to the car and be able to add the rain guards over the windows?

It will mount to whichever brand you choose to go with for the bars. There is a system floating around here that will allow you to use an 08+ type system but requires you to drill holes in your roof channel. Either way you will be put the window visors on bc those mount to the door and the rack mounts to the roof of the car and clamps inside the door

Ok so I've tried to do research and ran across a couple fitment guides , but didn't help.... Question: I wanna get either a Thule roof fairing or Yakima . But I don't know which measurement to go with. Idk where the rack is measured from
Is it just the aluminum piece that gets measured length wise . Or do you include the two side pillars with the measurement ???
I wanna place my order but don't wanna order too big or small....
I have the OEM roof rack on my 11' WRX
Any help ?
