Fuse question
Is there a reason why cars tend to use the blade-type fuses rather than the round glass bus-type fuses? Is it a robustness issue or merely a space saver?

Space saving primarily, plus being coloured they are easily identifiable, because the terminals are inserted inside the holder they are less prone to corrosion.
Hope that provides some insight. |

Thanks. So for auxillary aftermarket electronics (eg lighting) it wouldn't hurt to use the glass fuses?

no, it's not an issue, but I do try to keep them all the same style, purely so if I blow a 20amp fuse...I can pull one straight from my spotlights....but it's not a neccesity at all.
