Default Where are the "drivers?"

The Tribeca has been out for a year and under 30 posts ? ? ? ?
This goes to my statement that NO ONE is buying these cars.

I have 20K and no problems so far. Except the rear struts need to be replaced, in the cold, the rear door does not go up all the way.
Many of the options missing from a $30+K car are now in the '07
memory seats, enternal input for satellite radio, and that stuff.
Plus the sticker stating premuim gas was a turn-off to me, but the wife loved it. Just waiting to see about the 18" wheel replacement price. At 20K the tire still have plenty of tread, most likely they will go 50K.

There have been 198 Threads created in this forum.

The majority of the threads appear to be from previous owners of Subaru vehicles and not first timers at NASIOC either.

I suspect that most Tribeca buyers are first time Subaru and they really don't care about our fuel milage or how to install an accessory or whatever.

Browse the Impreza posts, some of those posters seem to have no life but their cars.

^^ Yup, this is very much primarily an Impreza enthusiast forum. I don't know how most Tribeca owners would even hear about it.

The Tribeca came just in time for the gas crunch. Subaru brought a battleship to a dingy race. The 'Beca is a nice vehicle but I'm holding out for a Subaru runabout.

Not really. Check out this thread:

The difference between the EPA Highway milage for the B9 (23) & the EPA highway milage for the Impresa 2.5i (28) or the WRX (26) is not that significant, considering the size difference. I doubt that is keeping anyone from buying into the B9.

IF there is a problem at all, IMHO, it is more likely to be a pricing issue. Most of the competitors seem to be priced lower becacuse you must add AWD/4WD to their MSRP to make the 2 vehicles equivalent. People who do not have a need for AWD just may choose to spend less money on the 2WD model of a competitors vehicle.
