Post Poorsh Envy

What is it with you guys and your constant complaining and comparing?
I picked up my WRX last Saturday and I'm not about to look over my shoulder at any other car. I love this car for what it is. It's no rally car. Nor is it a dragster. It's a drivers car based on it's rally car heritage, and a hell of a lot of fun to commute in. I own a Cherry '67 Chevelle Super Sport that could stomp the piss out my Rex but it's a different animal entirely. It's a piece of Muscle car history. If I wanted this WRX to be a Porche I'd go buy one.
This is an insanely great car for the money. Paid $23,800.00 with the Spoiler, Center Armrest, Keyless, and Dimming Mirror. For all you X-Genr's take a deep breath and enjoy this car for what it is. Don't beat it to death, and drive with some care. We are not alone out there. I know that's the tough part because once you spool up the turbo a hair grows across your ass and a smile dares you to give it a bit more.

Things of note: Drivers/Pedal position/location is great. A bit tight for my wide body though.
– The visors are ridiculously cheap to the touch and in appearance, but a worth the exchange in handling/performance.
– I got a great stare from two guys in there M5. That was priceless.
– Gas mileage a bit lower than expected.

"This thing that we do… it's a part of us".
This is a great car!!!

I just got out of the break-in period and right now it looks like I'm experiencing a noticable jump in gas mileage. I cannot be sure till my next fill up. Give it some time, it might go up.

No envy here - I got both

Seriously though, quit the whining, get em out on the track and have fun! With minor suspension mods, an RS can kick butt on a twisty track and a WRX should get respect even on big tracks. Go out an experience the fun of passing the guy that just spent $60k on a new Z06 vette.

I'll be doing my part by taking the RS to our Porsche club's auto-x events this season.
