Question OEM Oil Filter-15208AA09A & 15208AA100:

To All:

I have a 06 Outback 2.5 i Limited Wagon & will be doing my 1st oil change shortly & I want to know if anybody knows the difference between these 2 OEM filters-15208AA09A & 15208AA100?
Furthermore, I crossed referenced them w/ Wix Filters & I got 2 different part numbers: 51358 & 51365. Your input/information is greatly appreciated!!!

Call your dealer and ask them. Parts numbers change every 2 seconds. When Billy in Ohio posts that he knows the difference, odds are he's wrong as the info has changed. Go to the dealer and get the real and latest scoop.

There's a whole thread on it here:

15208AA100 - Black, Made in Japan Filters
15208AA09A - White, Made in US Filters

15208AA100 was being used first, then SOA switched to 15208AA09A.
People had "leakage" issues with the 15208AA09A.
SOA switched back to 15208AA100.
