![]() For those who are swapping in 6-speeds into the a WRX
Since the 07 Spec B has the r180 diff with the six speed and the bolt patern for the wheels is the same as the WRX (5x100) I think the 07 SpecB axels would work on a WRX and r180 without having to swap hubs. But I'm not sure if Legacy axels are longer then Impreza axels. any thoughs?

I am gonna have to make a trek to the local dealership and investigate this. Its this or DSS r160 hubs to r180 dif axles. |

![]() Alright, the FRONT Spec-B 6-speed axles are the same as the LGT axles. REARS are different.

![]() The 07 uses the same wheels as 06, which are 5x100. Can you check the rear axels of the SpecB vs STI?
Keep in mind, factory SpecB axels probably cost as much as the Driveshaft Shop (I have no nubmers I am just speculating) |

![]() Spec-B rear diff: 1.1qt capacity, helical LSD.
STI rear diff: 1.1qt capacity, mechanical LSD. Every other rear diff has a .8qt capacity... Its a R180. I cant tell about the rear axles yet though, still ressearching. (Im not using part numbers btw, im using the tech documents) |

![]() Well I gotta pull my axles out and see what they are. I think they are 00 rs axles. (lsd).
I have a v4-6 RA 4.44 r180. I would love to just grab some spec B axles and have them fit. But for somereason, I am doubting this. Anyone work for a dealership and wanna loan me some axles. I can test them out. If they work, i'll buy them ![]() |

![]() Most axles like that arent stocked, they would have to be special ordered (there are far to many kinds of axles to keep in stock).
The spec-b axles wont fit, I can tell you that for sure. They are 7cm longer than STI axles... |

![]() so i will assume this can be techincally a upgrade for a wrx rear end, that is planning to still use stock tranny. (but remembering to use a sti rear axles and brembos and hubs)

![]() are you saying these spec B's will fit my BE? hmmm.... I need an R180, then again they likely won't hold 600whp either.

![]() I can't tell if the spines are the same or not between the spec-b and sti.
Looks like the rear hubs are the same, or at least the rear suspension components are on the 2000-04 legacys and 05+ legacys. |

![]() how thick are wrx rear axles? Early 04 model... If they are the same thickness as the spec b axles couldnt you swap the center axle portion with just the cv inner/diff side components?
