No price difference, just tell them you wanted it with the 8CM housing and they will make it for you. Hopefully they havent made it yet!

Sorry Im a newb at turbos, but whats the difference between the two powerwise? Im guessing it will add to the lag. I`m going to be running an Ebay TMIC to make up for that lag.

How long did you wait for it? They told me they had to wait on a shipment of 18g wheels.

I ordered it 10/24 and recieved it today. I had to wait on the 18g wheels also.

As far as the 7cm vs the 8cm...Im a noob also All that Ive read suggests that it does add a bit more lag but hits MUCH harder and has more top end potential. Im not too concerned about lag, as long as it hits hard by 4000rpms I'll be stoked. Im also running a big TMIC.

I`ll stick with the 7cm as Im not looking for more lag on it.

Like the regular FP18gs, the 8 cm version uses a 16g compressor housing, right?

TD05H is the exhaust housing. FP's current 18g is a 16g compressor housing with an 18g wheel. It looks like FP did the same for the 8cm version.

TD05 is the housing, 18G is the wheel, both compressor side. 8cm vs 7cm is the exhaust housing.

maybe the compressor housing as well....dunno

typically TD04, TD04L, TD05H, TD06H, etc...refers to the exhaust wheel. And the 16G, 18G, 20G, 14T, 19T, etc is the compressor wheel regardless of the housing its sitting in.

7 & 8cm^2 is the nozzle area of the exhaust housing.

FP uses a 18g wheel in the smaller housing.

i'm thinking on if it would be worth it to get a 8cm^2 housing.

here's comparison pics from when i removed my VF30 and installed my TD05H-18G

most people don't realize that what makes an 18G an 18G is the compressor wheel, not housing.
And saying that a 16G wheel looks larger than an 18G wheel is pretty dumb. In a pic you can only see the inducer size anyway and a difference of a few mm isn't going to be easily noticable as well. However, there are differences in performance from a few mm.
