Question wrx 3 gauge dash SNAFU...a little help please...

i purchased the 3 gauge (turbo boost, voltmeter, and oil temp) pod option for my wrx. when the dealer installed the sucker, the oil temp would 'shut off' when i turned my lights on. they couldn't figure out the problem. the service guy contacted SOA and was told that they've had a number of issues regarding this gauge cluster option. the service tech installed a resistor or something between the oil temp line and something and it 'fixed' the problem. i discovered the other day that my interior dash light dimmer knob/dial doesn't work anymore?? AND, my electronic compass (rearview mirror) is giving me incorrect readings. first of all, does anyone know how to reset the compass thing? and secondly, what should i do about this gauge fux up? i haven't heard or seen anything about this gauge issue on any forums i've visited. what should i do?

This is a brand new car with a dealer installed option? There's only 1 thing that you should accept from them. Here is what you do:

1. Take the car back to the dealership and tell them the gauge pack doesn't work. Tell them all the problems you are having with it.
2. Ask that they fix all of the problems.
3. Demand that they provide you a rental car, free of charge.
4. Tell them if they cannot fix ALL of the problem with the gauge pack that you DEMAND to be refunded for the amount.

Dude, this is the only way you can go about it, YOU GOT JIPPED!! You did, and if they do not do everything in their power to make you feel better, you are fully in your rights to DEMAND a refund. Thats's it.

I'm with Derres.... take it back and demand that they fix the problem. If they won't, maybe SOA would like to know....
