Default Stage 2 Dyno Comp Tune Results

While I know this isn't the place for it I thought I'd let you guys know what a tune does for a guy. I just got tuned at Dyno-Comp in AZ. I made 228hp at the wheels with a stage 2 setup. That's an increast of 40 hp from my base run with exhaust and an increase of 50 ft.lbs. The car is unbelievably smooth now. The torque curve is flat and I'm hitting 17 psi boost with the stock turbo. I ended up getting an ecuteck management so my V2 Access Port is now for sale, in box, brand new. I'll post a formal for sale post when I get back to stoon on the 31st. Tuning rocks. PM for details and I'll try to post a vid and pictures l8r.

Yeah, that dyno run was on pump gas. I'll probably never run anything but pump gas on this car. I think it's too much of a pain in the ass to add octane boost every fill. Richard Garcia at Dyno Comp was great to work with. He's making me a map for my SR30 right now. I'll be bolting on the bigger turbo in a couple of days.

Is the altitude and fuel quality similar in AZ to what you'll encounter back home?

The fuel quality should be the same but Saskatoon is 500 ft higher than AZ. I expect to see a little less power back home. Oh and my torque peaked at 220 ft.lbs.

Are there any stations in 'Toon town that have an octane rating higher than 91? I sure could not find any when I lived there many moons ago...

No, not to my knowledge. I've never seen more than 91 octane.

Saskatoon has a Husky that sells 94 octane. I don't know where it is but am 100% positive about this as lots of people who run at SIR use it. A guy with a red Del Sol has run 12.5 strictly on the 94 so its a good quality fuel as well.

94 octane?! that's retarded. If I can't hit 280whp with my sr30 on pump gas then maybe I'll check that **** out. What's the snow like in town? I have to drive through Denver on the way home and I've never been so glad to have a Subaru.

husky has 94 octane but your gas mileage will right out the door, not worth it inmy opinion. I could make about 50% better gasmileage if I wasn't using husky.

60 cm of snow is expected in the denver area i believe

URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DENVER CO
411 PM MST FRI DEC 29 2006

.LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOW IS EXPECTED TO REDEVELOP OVER THE URBAN
CORRIDOR TONIGHT INTO SATURDAY...AS A SLOW MOVING LOW PRESSURE
SYSTEM OVER SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO MOVES INTO THE TEXAS PANHANDLE.

THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED TO OCCUR EAST AND SOUTH OF
DENVER...ALONG THE PALMER DIVIDE. STRONG NORTHERLY WINDS WILL ALSO
DEVELOP LATE TONIGHT INTO SATURDAY.

STRONGER WINDS OVER THE NORTHEAST PLAINS WILL ALSO CAUSE NEAR
ZERO VISIBILITIES IN BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW. NORTH WINDS FROM
15 TO 30 MPH CAN BE EXPECTED WITH SOME GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH. BY
MIDDAY SATURDAY...STRONGER GUSTS TO 50 MPH ARE POSSIBLE.

DUE TO THE VERY SLOW MOVEMENT OF THE STORM SYSTEM...STRONG WINDS
ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE OVER THE NORTHEASTERN PLAINS THROUGH
EARLY SUNDAY.

THERE ARE STILL UNCERTAINTIES REGARDING THE DURATION OF THE HEAVY
SNOW WEST OF INTERSTATE 25 AND WHETHER HEAVY SNOW WILL REDEVELOP
NEAR THE MOUNTAINS SATURDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY SUNDAY. BECAUSE OF
THIS A WINTER STORM WATCH CONTINUES SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY
MORNING FOR THE FRONT RANGE FOOTHILLS AND ADJACENT PLAINS.

ALL PEOPLE PLANNING TO TRAVEL ACROSS NORTHEASTERN AND NORTH
CENTRAL COLORADO TODAY THROUGH THE WEEKEND SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR
ROAD CLOSURES AND VERY DIFFICULT WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS. ROADS
WILL BE ICY AND SNOWPACKED AND BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW WILL
BECOME MORE OF A PROBLEM ON THE PLAINS WITH TIME. YOU ARE URGED
TO AVOID ANY UNNECESSARY TRAVEL...AND CARRY ITEMS SUCH AS A
SHOVEL... FOOD...WATER...AND WARM CLOTHING IF YOU DO GO OUT.

THE STORM HAS ALSO DISRUPTED AIR TRAVEL AT DENVER INTERNATIONAL
AIRPORT. AIR TRAVELERS SHOULD CHECK WITH THEIR AIRLINES FOR
DELAYED OR CANCELED FLIGHTS.

Yeah, about that weather warning. I'm now stuck in Las Vegas New Mexico for at least a day. They shut down the I-25 due to poor driving conditions. Super weak. Now I'll have to wait another day to bolt on my aps SR30. Richard is indeed the ****. He's working on a map for my new turbo as we speak. Well, the new fiance is waiting. Might as well make use of this seedy motel. Oh and subaru awd saved my ass multiple times today. Again, I will post logs when I get back to town.
One thing of interest though. Richard talked me into buying a reusable filter. It isn't a K&N. It's some other type. Anyway, he said it would make 5 hp at the wheels and I said I buy it if he proved it. He did. I'll post those results when I get home as well. I was totally blown away though. I had read that a better filter didn't do anything but i have a log of a filter making 5 hp at the wheels.

I watched a evo run back to back only swapping out the air filter. 10hp/10fttq gain at the wheels.....

Haha... I've been up that way alot. To bad you didnt call it a night in santa fe. Its really nice with alot more to do there...
Hope you have food / blanket supplies for the car travels...
Stay safe...

So if anyone wants, I have a Perrin reusable filter that I'll let go cheap!!

Good to hear your trip is going ok, inspite of the weather!

I just got through the door. My fiance and I took the 518 out of Las Vegas and we met up with the I-25 in Colorado. We got home safe and sound. Safe and sound with 228 hp and 30 mpg. Now my car needs a serious scrubbing. Tomorrow when I track down my camera cable I will post my dyno logs and the rest of the goodies. I will also go pick up my APS SR30 from Canada Post. Thanks for the concern.

None at all. I just told the border guard that I got it tuned. He was more interested in hearing more about the car then busting my balls about it. We got to the crossing at 08:45, the opened at 09:00, we were on our way by 09:15. they even let us pet the drug dog.
