Default Gauges for Stage 1?

I'm thinking of picking up a Tactrix cable & boost gauge. My car will only have sillicone IC hoses, drop-in panel filter, and silencer delete for 'power' mods, everything else is stock. I'm really not looking to drop a ton of money into gauges (300 for afr, egt, etc...), so would this be enough to safely run a tweaked stage 1 base map?

This should answer your question.

A wideband is always best to make a good map, otherwise try to find a good stage map to start with and tweak it. Log and understand what the ECU is telling you. But no, you just need a laptop and the cable to start with a base map and adjust it to your mods.

BTW, the EF map on 93 should be fine for your mods. If you run 91 and get knock, then scale back the timing some in the trouble areas that don't have a KC of +6 (with the EF stage map, you should see +6 KC in boost all the time or else you are knocking). If you don't understand this, read in this tuning forum as well as the various other open source tuning forums.
