Important EWG/IWG/WGDC question I NEED answered.
When you deal with WGDC's, do they react the same with an EWG as they do an IWG?

As in, do changes cause similar effects? Yes. Will your stock WGDC table work with an external gate? No.

Tial 35mm... I'm wondering if theres some type of pattern EWG vs IWG on the duty cycles.. like to get the same effect out of the EWG maybe decrease the numbers across the table..
What I may end up doing is tuning on my IWG, and then logging a 4th gear pull. Then switch over to EWG and log a 4th gear pull to compare. |

What turbo are you running? I've been holding on to this externally gated up pipe for quite some time and eventually plan on installing it with my ported and polished td04.

Have you done any tuning? I was holding off on the external gate because I was afraid I wouldn't get enough fuel without bigger injectors and a pump.

No i put it on, i hooked a friends wb02 sensor up for a day a few weeks after i put it on and all my fueling looks normal... i was hitting about 10.5:1 @ wot, 16psi

The first approximation trend is the same. Higher duty, more boost. The overall shape might be very different, but it also has a lot to do with the turbo.
It's likely the WG actuator spring is much stiffer. Going from a 7psi to a 15psi spring means you really don't need much WGDC at all until you are asking for 15+psi. Be careful loading high numbers where you don't need them, as it will end up giving you poor performance. |
