Question Anyone else getting these $1 surveys?

So far I've gotten 2 of them. They send you a survey with a crisp dollar bill....WOW. Then you gotta fill out about 4 pages worth of questions on how you like your subaru and "how does it make you feel?"....lol.

Anyone else getting these? (they should be giving us $5..hehe)

I got the first one with $1 in it, didn't fill it out (lost it) then they sent me another a year later with $2 in it. The cash in the second one had serials that ended in 6665 and 6666, so I took it as a bad omen and spent them and threw out the survey... lol.

$2 here. They figure it'll guilt-trip you into answering the survey. If I sent them a survey asking who what when where and why with a $1 would they take the money and send the answers? I'm guessing take the money and throw out the rest, like me.
I've filled out ENOUGH surveys.

Some air filtration people wanted to give me a vacation for 2 if I listened to a demo and filled out a survey. They didn't like it when I told them that I was the homeowner but I didn't have a job. Then they insisted that my GF be there to listen as well. I told them to bugger off. Too much hassle.

A buck? What can I buy with a buck?

You can get a 20minute phone call for 99cents and just 7cents after that.

Really? I guess a buck is worth something.

3 months after I bought my Audi, I was invited to a consumer forum. $100 for 2 hours of work.

They were asking us about the Audis we bought, about the new ad program they were working on. Those ads and posters were used in the dealers... and I snagged one.

Just $1 so far from JDPower.

My dad got one of those $1 surveys in the mail only 1 week after getting his Outback. How are we supposed to rate quality after driving the car only a few hundred miles?

Did that survey twice. I like surveys as long as my name isn't attached. Then I got a few letters about having me sit in on one of those consumer in-house group chat thing about stupid products. They offered me $100 for 45 minutes, so I said sure. Then they started liking me. Guess these places look for people who know how to make _their_ clients feel like this company is worth the bucks they spent. So I started going like once a month or more. Told them I wanted more than $100 for my time, so I got $200, no questions asked, my name STILL not attached with the money (except to call me, and via that they used my alter ego identity). After that I got invited to some extra special testing seminars last fall and those were great. Got try to out some nice products and even get to keep a few at the end. Haven't received a call yet this year, usually start up in late spring. Definitely get yourself into this gig, its the easiest money you've ever seen

My favorite parts of the surveys...

Please rate how important these features were to you in purchasing your new vehicle:

Towing...yeah right
Four-wheel drive...don't have it

Then there's the ever-present little trick of beta questions that ask the same thing in two different ways:

Please rate the safety of your new vehicle.
How secure do you feel in your new car?
Please rate the pickup of your new car.
Please rate the accelaration of your new car.
How would you rate the suspension of your new vehicle?
Please rate the handling of your new car.

I suppose they can be construed as having slightly different meanings, but they don't really. Maybe it was wrong of me to fill them out, seeing as how I used to work for a marketing research company and was a marketing major in college, but hey, it was $1 each. Didn't want to be jerk.

Yes, I've gotten 2 of them for $1 each. Filled them both out when I had time.

I believe you are in a position to say you do have four-wheel drive based on your profile to the left of your post.

Four Wheel Drive, All Wheel Drive are generally generic terms. Unless they specifically mentioned All wheel drive elsewhere on the test, I would mark Four Wheel Drive.

Using different words like "handling" and "suspension" lets them figure out what terms people respond to. Joe Consumer might be likely to say something like "I don't know about the suspension, but I really love the way my new car handles." My wife is like that. She's starting to learn (thanks to my dilligence ), but a year ago, she didn't even know that you had to change the oil in a car.
