I could care less about the poll, but that picture of Jard is hilarious so I will go with that.

other options seem ridiculously out in left field. I would have to say a transmission failure. That seems reasonable

So for those of you who were wondering...

Yes, I grenaded my 5MT in my N/A RS

I was exiting from the Toll Rd. West, to 28 North.

The exit there is 3 booth's wide.
Cash, Exact Change, Easy Pass...

I was rolling in 3rd (30-ish mph) behind some moron in the Easy Pass lane, who had never seen a toll booth before. This must have been a frightening experience for them, as they slammed on the breaks as they tried to decide which booth to go through.

I changed to the middle lane and went to go around them, but they panicked and decided to suddenly change 3 lanes to the left, into the cash lane. They of course did not use turn signals or any type of warning.

I got on the brakes so that they wouldn't clip me, lit up my supertones, then cleanly rev-matched into 2nd. I changed right back into the easy pass lane, and promptly put my foot to the floor.

BANG! There went the tranny. Lost second for sure, couldn't get into 3rd, managed to get into 4th and roll out of there. I was still trying to figure out if I lost the tranny, or something else. I could hear chattering in what sounded like the front right corner of my car. Clutching in didn't make it go away either.

I managed to roll most of the way up 28 in 4th, but then...as habit...shifted to 5th (cleanly). Car still chattering, I made the right exit onto 7 east and headed home towards Cascades Parkway. I had managed to time every light just right so that I could stay in 5th, but the light at Palisades and 7 (Sweetwater) is a long one. I couldn't make it.

Having just made the 4-5 shift a few mins ago, I decided to try and do 5-4. big mistake. Couldn't catch any gear at that point and the shift lever just froze right up. I pulled off onto Palisade and woke Ted (rogue) up to tow me the last mile to my apartment =P

Good thing I had my tow rope in the trunk =P

I called my roomie while I was in-tow and he met us out front and helped back the car into my parking spot.

Thanks (as always) to Ted and Andrew...

Advance thanks to Andrewtech, as I know that you will fix this up properly =)

Oof, that sucks. Well, 5MT trannies, used, are pretty cheap at least. Could use that in the interrim, if nothing else...

That sucks. I feel your pain on this one. Lucky it was only the 5mt... they are way cheaper.

My current issue is that no one seems to be able to get me a/s tires today...

Tire Van does not have inventory.

Goodyear's shop wants $225/tire for RE960's ($143 on tire rack).

Still waiting on calls back from the manager there.

Update: Tires plus has RE960's, matching Tire Rack's site.

Tire Rack is 143/tire + shipping, I'm getting them for $153 + mounting & Balancing.

I can do that.

Off I go...slowly...
