Default How To's

hey guys,
I have been reading through the forums and I think I may be more confused than when I started. I am trying to figure out how to go about logging and flashing my 02 wrx, I dont even have a cable yet, my main goal right now is to learn the process and the software (ecuexplorer and ecuflash). I am having a terrible time trying to figure out what to click and what not to click, what to use and what not to use. For example all of the parameters in ecu explorer with engine load and advance multiplier, there are so many options i dont know what to choose. I wanted to know if there are any how to's on how to go about using these programs. I read the User Guide for ecuexplorer, but it more or less tells you what each function does. If there are any threads I should check out in particular please let me know, I plan to order my cable when I get paid.

Download the latest version of Enginuity whose logger will automatically determine the correct IAM and engine load for a variety of ecus. You can also use Enginuity to edit your rom, which you retrieve from your ecu with Ecuflash and the tactrix cable.

Ditto with Tea Cups^^^^
Enginuity has a drop down menu that lets you choose tuner level. (beginner, intermediate, advanced) you can play around with that and see what changes would be best for more advanced tuners.

I'm like you in the learning stages. I'd recommend reading, reading, reading, and when your eyes hurt, read some more. My current book is "How to tune and modify engine management systems" by Jeff Hartman. It's a long read with lots and lots of info. I read alittle bit everyday on my lunch break and use a highliter. Also, the user manual for the Accessport Streetuner has some good tuning info. You can download the manual from PDX tuning.

Also Enginuity.org has a lot of good info. That is where you can download the latest program also after you register.
