i was told, with any gt30r kit that there has been tuning issues or it is difficult to tune with the ecutek. is this true? if so what type of problems are there?

you sure, cause there's alot of people on awjunkies tuned with ecutek and 30r. example, rally blue, and fishdizzle. pm,fishdizzle and ask him.

the only problem i can think of is ecutek locking the ecu.

ecutek and cobb is almost the same. i have cobb and loved it. utec is better for the 30r? it all depends on what you wanna do to your car. i wouldn't say one is better than the other. it's all up to your tuner.

No piggyback is better than a reflash. I'm tuning mine with OpenECU.

I have my 30R tuned with ecutek and my car runs great besides the stalling from the MAF sensor being too close to the turbo.. Th only limitation IMO is that you cant switch maps with ecutek like all the other EM's without reflashing the ECU which from what i hear can only be flashed so many times before the ECU is burned out..

The ecu burns out from being flashed to much? First time I've read that, is that true?

Try searching for "100 flash limit" or "reflash limit" etc. It's been brought up dozens of times. I've read reports of flashing several hundred times with no failures. Flash memory has come a long way in the past decade. I would not worry about it unless you plan to flash several times a day, every day, for a years.

I shall kindly disagree. UTEC ontop of reflash is the shizzle.
