It can be done but very difficult to get to rear bolts.

You're gonna have to lift the motor but its easy. Just unbolt the tranny mount, pitch stop and engine mounts, and put a piece of wood in between the jack and the transmission and jack it up. Keep an eye not to extend any wires or hoses to much and you will have plenty of clearance. I recommend a small ratchet with long extension and swivel socket to get those rear oil pan bolts.

I did find even that installing this turbo is much easier than trying to fit the stock td04 in place. I am glad I did this.

Installed on an 03 wrx. Got it from JDMSpecC4U, paide 1700 for everything, although later I found a couple users had some for sale for like 1500 right after I got mine! Anyhow, I am using the Cobb Streettuner and actually am getting protuned on thursday.

Doh... well I've got my hands on a v7 pickup, but no oil pan... any chance of a measurement from the mounting surface to the very bottom of both of those pickups? Need to know which oil pan I will need, and not about to order a JDM one.

I've been confused about this for a while now......I was looking into getting equal length headers for my 06 wrx and I have read that you have to change to an Sti oil pan......my car has the 2.5L in it....do I still need to change the oil pan? Is it the same as the STi pan since it's basically the same engine just with smaller injectors, turbo and intercooler, does this only apply to the 2.0L?

thanks... Thinking about getting from them as well... It'll be going on a JDM V7 engine which has the same oil pan as the USDM WRX. I'm not sure if the oil pick up is the same one as posted. Also wondering myself if I would just need the pan or everything

The oil pickup I have looks like the STI one up top, and it was either off a v7 motor or an 02 WRX motor. I'm still wondering if they are the same length (depth) from the motor to the pickup area.
