new to subaru
well ive got a legacy wagon with a 2003 WRX engine, its almost done getting wired up. While i was getting all the parts together for it I picked up afew go fast goodies.
This car is gonna be my daily driver and has to complete a 2500mi drive shortly after completion. I choose the WRX engine once i relized the OEM 2.2 in it was done for, it had 32k miles on it and was a USDM car and has a huge aftermarket. After reading further and further into the forums i realized i could compromise the longevity of this nice engine, spooling alittle sooner, alittle more boost, overtaxing the fuel system, ect. I currently have a 3in stainless bellmouth DP wrapped, a full Blitz Nurspec exhaust, an HKS air intake and a Blitz BOV (vent to atmosphere). Ive read about the different problems the BOV can cause and now im concerned about my Engine managment. Ive read that nothing beats the OEM ECU for driveability and i would like to stick with it and get a reflash. I dont really care about TQ or HP numbers, i dont plan on drag racing or autocrossing the car, i'd just like to have a very capable car on/off the road. I think i might have to upgrade my fuel system?

You are in my area. I could probably set you up with a reflash.
You won't overtax the fuel system if you are running the stock WRX turbo. But I can make the car alot more responsive and smooth. |

In the right hands a 2.0 with an exhaust and reflash can be made really fun to drive.

I appriciate the offer, if i ever find myself in the seattle area i'll hit you up, unfortunatly i dont have any reason to go to the west side before i move.
There are acouple guys i know that dyno tune here in town but mostly american and VW stuff so i dont really feel comfortable making hard pulls on a dyno with "guess" maps. Looking ito piggy back units now, but i wont deice unti i start it up and drive it. |
