Sounds like your throttle linkage is malfunctioning. Often caused by: corrosion at the pivot points, or connecting bolts getting loose, so the linkage doesn't work as designed, or throttle cables that get sticky from corrosion or dirt. I would try to examine whatever part of the throttle linkage I could under the hood.

Good luck.

Find your air filter, follow that up the the manifold, on the manifold will be a throttle body where you see cables and springs in 1 spot. that is where you should look and lube if needed. Check obstructions around your pedal as well.

Yeah, WD-40 will work. If you like, I can stop by to peek at it on my way to Jerry's tonight. Let me know.

Don't use WD-40 it will just wear off. Use some White Lithium or silicone grease. Both are weather-proof and will help.

lol see now that's why i ask first..anywho..i think i found out what the REAL problem was..and lets hope thats it...one of my nuts keeping the rods holding the battery in place together...was missing..so the whole set up (including battery) appeared to have been just knocking about in there..haha should've popped my hood sooner...since i put it back in place i haven't felt the mysterious choppiness...going to buy nut...and hope i never feel that again...(nothing appeared to be wrong with the throttle cable etc etc) i seem to lose alot of bolts nuts and screws...this wouldn't be the first one to disappear
