Default Perrin PWI-1 Kit--Working with Dyno plots???

I'm more than a month trying to get this kit tuned and working. Had to wait for the new R2 board and constant conflicting install instructions.
I've seen people say they have it working, but NO one has posted dyno plots.

Has anyone on the east coast gotten one working and tuned.

If so, what kind of gain?

I go this Wednesday for yet another attempt at tuning this thing.

Results are going to be like any other working WI system. You don't buy a certain system for the dyno results - they all pretty much give the same power gains (to a certain extent of course). You buy a system for its reliability and failsafes.

I don't think people fully understand that. When you pay more money you get better delivery (like high-speed valves, mapping vs. boost ramp, etc) and/or better failsafe possibilities for when things go bad. Either way, your power output will be fairly similar - people make plenty of extra power on single stage systems. The more expensive systems just allow you to fine tune the setup a bit more.

Epoth he wasnt trying to find out what peoples results were. He just wants proof that someone actually has a working kit. Everyone says that they do but nobody has any proof i.e. Dyno plots. Some people always get on here and brag about parts that in reality that they dont even own

Here's mine, hope it helps!

05 WRX sedan, at the time current mods - Turbo XS TBE, PDX Tuning Stage 2 flash

Here's a link to a small wire up we have on our website, and here's one to some more pics.

Just got the 16g and FMIC together but haven't been able to get the set-up re-tuned yet. Hopefully soon and I'll post the results.

Agghhh!!

Just recieved and installed the 2.1 board for the Perrin kit.

Still does not work as it should.

No injection light, just low flow light and feels like the power is off.

Trim pots in same location, just not the same.

Switched back to 2.0 board and feels great.

Back to waiting.

Here is my dyno chart with the Perrin PWI-1:

You will notice the dip at lower rpms, that was the board cutting ECU boost for a second, the problem has now been resolved and the alky inj system is working great.

BTW:

05 LGT
AVO380
iON coated headers/UP
TBE
Perrin TMIC
AEM CAI
PWI-1 alky set-up
90 octane gas
OEM pump and injectors (at least 15-20 more whp available with upgraded injectors and pump)

Done on PDXs new Mustang dyno (very conservative reading one)

I don't know.

The second board did not solve the problem, but the third one did.

If you go to Perrin's website and click on the PWI-1 then click on charts, case study two is my car. I should have some more dyno plots soon as we are going to be doing some more tuning on it tomorrow.

The new version allows more time for the water to reach a steady flow before switching in the failsafe circuit cuts in. When a failsafe is detected, it instantly revert the boost pressure to wastegate setting.

Original = 0.3s
Rev1 =0.6s
Rev2+ = 0.9s

This will cover most of the response speed of the flow sensor. A faster response flow sensor has also been developed as I am writing this.

I know these kind of suck but the scans were even worse. On the scans you couldn't even see the torque curve so I took these pics.

Here is the before plot. Mods are pretty limited. K&N drop in filter with a GP moto elbow, Perrin equal length header, Perrin down pipe, HKS High Power exhaust and of course the Perrin PWI-1.

And of course the after.

Since the pictures aren't that great I'll tell you horse power peaked at 293 at about 5100 RPM, torque peaked at 370 at about 3300 RPM.

These are the latest tune on PDX's new Mustang Dyno. The ones posted on Perrin's website are before I had the header and they were on the Dynapack that PDX was leasing.

Mind if I borrow these pics on lgt.com forum to compare with my pdx dyno?

That is sweet! I think Aarons car was the highest stage 2 STI on the old PDXtuning dyno! Too bad we couldn't compare the new setup with old on the same dyno!

As Richard mentioned, we have been constantly tweaking things, and if anyone does have a problem with the red light, please contact us, and we will get you out a new board.

The most current install instructions are available if you email us. Those also have gone through some changes. Richard sent us the diagrams which had a couple things wrong with them. They got fixed, but some got shipped with the wrong wire colors. This was regarding the failsafe stuff only.

A sneak peak at another small change.

Hope people will like this!

Not trying to create jealousy, I'm trying to inspire better interior design.
