need help with maps
I tried looking around the forums for the answer to my inquiry but I guess I can't understand the info without explanation of what I was reading. I am a total newb at tuning.
I recently installed a 20G turbo and samco inlet hose. Now my car is misfiring. One of my buddies tells me i should find out what the fuel trim should be on an STi for the injectors i have. What exactly does that mean? Do any of you guys know what it should be? Anyhow I have an '05 STi with: TD06-20G Samco Inlet Nismo 740cc injectors Walbro fuel pump Helix 3" TBE Sorry I am just lost about the whole thing. Any help is appreciated

I would say take it to an expert because I don't want your car to die. But if you insist post more information about your current EM and get some data logging done so somone can help you.

http://www.enginuity.org/viewtopic.php?t=1901 You need to get your car tuned, period. I'm worried you're going to ask over and over until you get the answer you want, whatever that is. It seems like you're looking for a quick fix. That's not going to really help your problems. Find someone local in your area who can tune your car. I know there are several shops in California, though you may have to search a bit if you don't want to get stuck for $500-800. I'm sure you could find someone who could tune it via Openecu for a more reasonable sum. Try going into the regional forum for your area and post asking for referrals to local tuners. You don't need one little thing change. The car needs to be tuned by a competent person from top to bottom. You've admitted already you're a newb to tuning. Your setup is NOT a good place to learn, and you're already modified at this point. Too late to suddenly decide to learn how to tune a fairly modified car. You need to get the car fixed up. You're not going to learn how to tune before you blow your car up, and you don't need quick advise over the internet. |
