learned rich condition w/o bov
alright heres the deal. I know that when you vent to the atmosphere there is a rich period period that may or may not be very harmful. I have an 02 wagon running TBE, up pipe, VF34,pinks,walbaro pump, ebay top mount and an ecutek tune. I made 286whp and 275wtq. My question is if I stick a BOV on and run it for a while could it mess up the tune permanently even after I put the factory BPV back on?

Any learning your ECU does goes away when you disconnect your battery, so no.
But why would you do this? |

a bov gets annoying to me after a while. I like to switch it up every once in a while. The reason im asking is because after I had my first tune done I put a BOV on it for about a month and was sick of the engine performance with the BOV so i put the stock bpv back on. After that it seamed like somthing wasnt right so i took it back to the tuner and he did find somthing wrong. We went for a road tune and all was well after that. I dont know if it was a cawinsidence or if it did mess up the tune please forgive my bad spelling

i dont think its possible to alter the tune by adding a bov.. it might change some values such as the iam, but all of those get set back to default when you reset the ecu, default being what your tuner used as his final tune..
