Default ecutek lack of surport?

Is it just me or does everyone email these guys for 6 months and post on their forums to get no replies back on software problems with their product.

If I had known this I'd never had my flashed with ecutek,

Ah they are clueless on this problem. Its been going on sence november. I think I just need to reflash to stock and have a openecu flash least those guys help each other out.

Spending $$$ for a tune and not fixing one of my problems is really pissing me off.

As a tuner we would expect our customer to contact us, not the manufacturer for tech support. If it is beyond us we would contact EcuTeK. Makes sense to me since you are not buying the product directly from them. They are very good about supporting dealers...at least that is my experience.

My car(2006 wrx US model) was tuned with ecutek@dynocomp. I have a catless down pipe and no rear o2 sensor. Before the tune I was getiing no o2 code on the obdII scan.

So I had the car tuned. Tuner shut that code off, About 5 miles outside of the tune, I get po2096, When we log on with delta dash or ecutek it tells me po2100. I have sence logged the code using a snap on data tool and a few other scan tools. All tell me po2096 "post cat fuel trim lean bank 1" po2100 is throttle plate servo motor failing.
Ecutek doesnt have a po2096 listed in the definitions. least in V.2

So whos wrong?

I have had this damn light pop on at 72mph no load at 2800 rpm sence last november, I'm getting tired of it.

I get differant reasons from dynocomp each time I go there. Dynocomp has told me they were talking with ecutek, I still dont have anythng. No one has called me up and said lets figure this out. I have sent ecutek a few emails never to be returned.

Its getting old and I have given everyone alot of time to sort this out. Dynocomp sent them a rom file to see what was going on. Never heard back from that as well... That was 4 months ago.

You see my point?

the rear oxygen sensor is required for closed loop fuel operations. I'd put it back in.

your tuner should be informing Ecutek.
but if your tuner has been a slacker then by all means.
but you should at least wait a few weeks.

ok, it sounds like youve got a few issues. ive got some suggestions

1) get a new tuner... you paid alot of money and that person should be doing their best to help fix your problem.. i know if i had a problem i could call andy at verocious or even ray at turbotek if i needed help...
2) have you tried a non-fouler or something like that? im ecutek tuned and i have yet to get any codes...
3) i understand ur frustration but i dont think theres much that ecutek can do.

I'm also a little choked about EcuTek's lack of support. They have been working on User Tuning for 04/05 MY for like 3 years and they have yet to release anything. I figure they're holding it back so we can pay our tuners more for adjustments. However, I got a new map from dynocomp the other week and I love the tune. Love it. Richard has always returned my emails within a reasonable amount of time.

I am having the same code pop up as well while I am driving in 3rd at 2800rpm or 6th at 2800rpm no load as well. I am ecutek tuned and have a full rotated setup with fmic and all the usual mods on my 06STI. This happens for me at no load out of the blue. I just recently picked up easyecu so I can hopefully see what is going on.

I haven't posted anything on the ecutek forums but I do agree with the lack of support that I have noticed on that board. Regardless who you buy the product from they are still the manufacturer. And I am sure alot of busy shops don't have the time to answer all emails/ phone calls on tuning issue's.

+1 for going to AEM EMS

and your car is probably idling around 13.5:1 instead of 14.7:1.

turning off the code doesn't fix the fact that it throws off the closed-loop fueling.

Not sure what bugs you are speaking about. The only bugs I have ever seen are from inproper use, which is completely understandable, the EcuTeK system it is a very powerful system. We currently make about 500+whp on our shop car that is at the track today. And yes, it is running on the EcuTeK software.

06STi

I do know that the WRX's are much harder to tune than the standard STi's. The STi's, even the 07 are very easy to tune in comparison to the WRX's. They take a much finer hand to really make them reliable and not throw codes.

I apologize for the problems you are having with your EcuTeK system. Please e-mail me if you can not get any response from your EcuTeK dealer or EcuTeK and I will speak to them personally.

Cheers,
Bill @ I-Speed USA

This is Richard (Owner of Dyno-Comp) replying. As everyone is aware, I only post when it is VERY necessary.

So lets get some things clarified about this situation!!!!

Initially he removed the rear O2 sensor all together, because from my understanding it was destroyed (came off) when he was driving the car off road…or something.

I explained that he MUST have the rear O2 sensor installed to complete the circuit, and this was probably the reason for the CEL. He then purchased a new rear O2 sensor, and he still has the code. This tells me that maybe his wiring harness to the rear O2 may be damaged.

As for our support on Delta Dash (he does not have EZ ECU). This customer did NOT purchase the Delta Dash from us….also (last week) I noticed that it is a very OLD version that still uses the serial port. Therefore, as for VISTA…I simply requested that he access ECUtek website for supporting software updates…….EASY!!!!

Furthermore, IF he would have initially inquired with us about purchasing Delta Dash expecting to have live tuning option for 2006 WRX, I would have explained that this option was not available for this model year, and would not have sold it to him, BUT he elected to (buy from a private party used) and trash talk us and ECUteck making it sold like we sold it to him…..hmmmmm.

Mind you that the only thing that he has ever purchased from us to date is: was a

- FLASH License (*HE DID NOT EVEN WANT A DYNO TUNE)

- Strut Tower Brace

- Sway Bar

….everything else he has NOT purchased from us. But still I have tried my best to support him considering I have NOT sold him a majority of his parts not even the Delta Dash!

CASE CLOSED>>>>>>>>

My car was dyno tuned. By you Rich

Now.. why you sold me ecutek telling me it would stop my cel light from flashing for rear o2. Seems you didnt do that. You claim one day its a po2100 Now your going with it being a po2096?
My rear o2 as you were told back in november was damaged do to the threads stripping taking it out of the stock down pipe. One day you claim one cel code next time its something else.

Did you even email my rom file to ecutek? Like you told me you did? Back in january....?

Now it doesnt matter how much I have bought off you. Your surport has not been up to par. That is why I have not bought anything else back from you.

Your comments also tell me that If I dont buy enough from you I'm not worth your time.

Also my delta runs usb. I also use the latest download from ecutek
I also asked you to unlock my ecu and you refused giving me all sorts of reasons.
