![]() EDIT: SOLD!
Hey everybody, I'm probably going to be selling my baby sometime soon, because having 2 project cars + working 3 jobs is too much for me. I'll definitely consider trades for other cars +/- cash as well. Has enough parts to go with it to build almost another full ST165 ![]() 1988 ST165 Toyota Celica AllTrac (GT-Four in other countries) White with blue cloth interior NO rust 185k miles Suspension: KYB AGX shocks in front Ingalls FastCam cam bolts KYB Strut mounts B+G Lowering Springs Whiteline adjustable rear sway Racing beat miata rear endlinks Whiteline front sway (not installed) Ground control coilovers (not installed... one of the four got stolen from my garage, but can be purchased individually from GC) Speed: Aussie 3" downpipe AP Engineering 3" stainless midpipe Custom 3" catback by Pro Dyno, Tempe AZ 3" high-flow cat installed (passes emissions with no problems) ST185/MR2 exhaust manifold ST185/MR2 twin scroll turbo APEX'i AVC-R electronic boost controller K&N Straight intake Homebrew Fuel Cut Defencer Intercooler heat exchanger from a Cobra NGK plugs (one step colder) Brembo front slotted rotors w/Porterfield R4S pads Stainless steel brake lines other stuff I'm sure I'm forgetting Blang: Pioneer MP3 CD deck boost, narrowband air/fuel, and oil pressure guages Dark tint ALLTRAC plates Spare parts: JDM MR2 3S-GTE motor w/turbo (full, ready to be installed, including exhaust manifold, twin-scroll turbo, oil cooler w/brand new Hose From Hell, etc.) ST165 3S-GTE motor, disassembled (spun bearing on piston 1, took to a machine shop and crank can just be polished back into spec with oversize bearings) - 156k miles ST165 tranny w/156k miles (told it still works great) spare full ST165 intercooler setup (pump, two heat exchangers, core, as well as another pump from a Typhoon) full (I think?) engine wiring harness lots of body and interior parts new 6-puck clutch/lightweight flywheel (I forget the brand, can check if anyone's interested) lots more parts info on my for sale thread (anything not sold will go with the car): http://www.alltrac.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=20796 plus more I decided to keep for myself also includes the BGB (Big Green Book - Toyota's repair manual) for both the Alltrac and the standard Celica, and all of the other Alltrac-specific parts I've accumulated through the years Mechanically, the car runs fantastic. The only issue is a weird problem I'm having on starting when hot (detailed here for full disclosure: http://www.alltrac.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=15587), which I am planning to resolve before selling the car. It also overboosts if you try to run it to redline on full throttle (which happens on pretty much every alltrac i've seen with a 3" exhaust and no external wastegate), but the FCD and higher octane gas can take care of that. Dynoed on pump gas at 204.0 AWHP and about 175 Ft/lb of torque at DynoComp's notoriously low reading dyno. Dyno sheet available as well. This was on the stock ECU and running really rich (after 10PSI the stock ECU runs pig rich, leaning it out would easily give another 30 or so AWHP) some older pics (before tint): ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or post here, or email me directly for fastest response at [email protected] gmail.com I will be working on the starting issue this weekend, as well as giving it a bath, and will be able to take pics afterward if anyone's interested. Asking $6000 obo, negotiable, or trade ![]()

![]() Best estimates state that only about 2,500 ST165s were imported into the US over 1988-89, and obviously much fewer than that are still available, making this a VERY rare car. I've only heard of two others in the entire state, one I saw on ebay, the other had a blown motor and a bad mechanic, but I bought it and stripped it for parts.
A little info about the car for anyone who's not familiar with it: * * * ST165 The first version of the All Trac is known as a ST165 (87-89). The ST165 was based on the ST162 (naturally aspirated front wheel drive) Celica but with several unique changes. Most notably was the drivetrain that was a full time all wheel drive system. The engine was replaced the natural aspirated one with a 16 valve, 2.0 liter motor that was turbo charged and top mounted water-to-air intercooled. This created a performance oriented engine that had a base of 185 horsepower. The performance was close to it's big brother, the Toyota Supra Turbo. However, the All Trac was popular because could take advantage of the all wheel drive during the winter and extreme weather conditions. The car was not a big seller, but it was not Toyota's intention to sell a lot of All Tracs because the car had been built for competition in rally campaigns. An updated version of the ST165 was released in 1989 that accommodated new designs to the interior. To name a few options were power windows, power sunroof, power locks, power and heated mirrors, and an optional leather interior among other things. Around the time of the last ST165s were being sold, a new body style and update of the GT-Four was being produced in Japan (10/89). * * * US Specifications (1988): Code: E50F Code: 3S-GTE Type: Transverse Front Engine, Full Time All Wheel Drive Viscous Coupling Limited Slip Center Differential) Type: Inline 4, aluminum head ValveTrain: DOHC, 16 Valve (4 Per Cylinder) Transmission: 5 speed manual Displacement: 1998cc (2.0 Liter) Gear Ratios: 1: 3.58:1 2: 2.05:1 3: 1.33:1 4: 0.97:1 5: 0.73:1 Final: 4.29:1 Bore/Stroke: 86mmX86mm Compression: 8.5:1 Output HP: [email protected] Rpm Output Torque: 190 lb/[email protected] Rpm Redline: 7200 Rpm Speed Test Mph/1000Rpm Max Speed (mph) 1: 4.4 32 (7300rpm) 2: 7.7 56 "" 3: 11.9 87 "" 4: 16.3 119 "" 5: 21.6 140 (6500rpm) Dimensions: Curb Weight: 3270 lb (with options) Weight Distrobution F/R: 59/41 Wheelbase: 99.4 in Track F/R: 57.9 in / 56.9 in Length: 171.9 in Steering: Width: 67.3 in Type: rack-and-pinion, power-assisted Height: 49.8 in Turns lock to lock: 2.9 Ground Clearance: 5.1 in Turning Circle: in: 35.4 ft Brakes: Suspension: Front: MacPherson Struts, Anti Roll Bar Front: 10.0 in x 1.0 in vented discs Rear: Struts with lateral links and 1 trailing link, Anti Roll Bar Rear: 10.6 in x 0.4 in solid discs Tires: Performance: Wheel Size: 14x6 in Tire Size: 205/60-14 0-60 Mph: 7.7 sec (7.3 in tests) Lug Spacing: 5 lug x 100mm 0-100 Mph: 22.4 Sec Lateral G: .82 60-0 Mph Brake: 146 feet 1/4 Mile: 15.6 Sec @ 88 Mph Top Speed: 135 Mph 70Mph-0 Brake: 202ft Turbo: Model: Toyota CT26 Type: Water and Oil Cooled, Internal Wastegate Max Pressure: 10.2 psi Intercooler: Toyota Water/Air Top Mount Pressure Drop: ~2 psi Features: Type: Cloth or Leather Option, bucket seat Standard: All Wheel Drive Alloy Wheels Rear Spoiler Fog Lights Power Windows/Locks Leather Shift Knob 6 Speaker AM/FM Cassette Sound System Optional: Anti-Lock Brakes Power Adjustable Driver Seat Cruise Control Leather Seats Double Adjustable Sunroof |

![]() Another cheap standalone project that seems interesting:
http://alltrac.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=20010 using a chipped Honda ECU to run the alltrac and another one here: http://alltrac.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=21150 to add an EEPROM to the stock ECU that can be reflashed. |
