Enginuity 16g and supporting mods map??
I'm looking for a 16g base map for an 02 bugeye. Here is the list of mods
(installed) Hyperflow top mount Perrin Short Ram HKS Header and up-pipe MRT Catted Down-pipe Test-pipe HKS Carbon Ti Catt-back Fresh set of 1-4 PPG syncro-mesh straight-cuts from andrewtech Exedy stage 1 clutch (waiting to go on) STi pinks Perrin Fuel Rails Walbaro 255 Mitsu 16g from Bullseye Gaskets and such Defi tri gauge pod (boost/egt/fuel pressure) Innovate Wideband and controller Right now I'm looking for a base map just to get everything up and running. I live 2hrs north of Pittsburgh and there are no local tuners. So basically I just need something that I will be able to safely drive until I can get a pro-tune. Right now money is a little tight since I just dropped the money on the PPG's so anything would be great guys Thanks.

I'm more than willing to learn
I'm more than willing to learn. I just wanted something to get me started. I've been reading up on tuning, but I'm just a little scared about the whole thing. With a point in the right direction I'm ready to give it a shot.

Just take any of the vf series maps and zero out the boost and wgdc tables and you should be fine to drive it to the tuner. Let me know if you need help and I can fix it up for you.

Thank you 06rexwagon
If I used a VF series base map how hard would it be to tune myself? What values would I be looking for in logs? The closest tuner is in Indiana PA and they are the guys at slowboy. I would prefer to learn how to do this myself. Are there any books I can buy to learn more?
I've been helping my friend work on his boosted IS300 running a haltech standalone system. He just bought the car from a guy in Alabama. It was tuned at PFS in Maryland, but it keeps junking plugs and stalling at idle. So pretty much we are getting a crash course in learning how to tune. |

its easy to tune a 16g right out of a stage 2 map. just scale the injectors, and latency to zero out your trims. then start at wastegate pressure and tune up from there to your desired boost level. rescale appropriately on the way. I'm in the process of doing it right now.

before I do my install do you guys think I should up the injector size, or will the pinks be big enough?
Also what would be a good target boost range to shoot for? I've pulled a couple of logs and I'm peaking at 15.7 and tapering off to around 13.4 on a solid 3rd gear pull. Now the problem is when I bought the car most of the mods were already done so I don't know how or if it was tuned before. |

Pinks will def be enough.
If you want safe I would say ~17psi would be really safe but you can def do more. It really depends on where the peak boost is. Quote:

the 16g really works well into the 20+ PSI range. to take full advantage of the 16g you need atleast 650's and about 22-24psi of boost

Hank, what boost are you holding to redline? I haven't looked at the compressor map for the 16g.

Hank, running at 20psi what is your AFR at and what size/kind of injectors are you running? Also if you don't mind me asking have you been dyno'd, what type of whp are you making?
