Default Crappy news: NE's only 6speed SVX taken out by box truck

Well the pictures speak well for themselves.

My girlfreind was on her way up to see me at work, wile sitting at a stop light a 40' Pensky box truck rammed right into the back of her sending her out into the crossing traffic. Fortunatlly no one else hit her but she does have some back and neck issues to deal with for awile from this jackass in the truck. This guy seriously had o have his head up his ass not to see her sitting there.

Penskys, are rental truck's right? Amatuer truck drivers are not to be trusted. Glad everyone is OK.

Damn, dude, that's too bad about the car.

Definitely make sure your girlfriend is OK, and not just right now but for the long term. I'm not at all the "SUE 'EM!!!" type, but it might be worth getting checked out by a doctor to make sure she doesn't have any long term injury to her neck or something like that. If she does, well, "SUE 'EM!!!" That looks to have been a pretty severe impact.

Thanks everyone. Sandy is doing ok now only becouse she's got enough pain killers to knock out a horse! But if she goes awile without them she starts getting some serious back pains.

Well maybe we will own Pensky trucking by the time it's all over.

As for the car....well I plan to rebuild it. Mostly all the driveline was spared as well as all the custom parts (hood, bumper, and i think the suspensions ok, not sure about the left rear yet) I got a perfect shell sitting around with no dents or rust on it so i figure i will get it painted and swap everything over. Should leave enough money for some upgrades along the way (supercharger )
Speaking of money and insurance, has anyone dealt with insurace companies when it comes to modified cars? I want to make sure i can get the most outta this deal becouse there are gonna try to tell me it's worth alot less that i know i could have gotten for it.

IMO you'll have a tough time there, lots of receipts will help. This is not your policy, so blue book value is not relevant, even though they'll try to tell you it is. Find some recent sales of similar cars to provide a realistic price point, but don't expect to get a pie in the sky kind of price.

And taking bits off of it assumes they'll sell it back to you, some companies refuse to do so. Has the other company provided you with a rental car? They are required to do so if you request it.

glad to hear the gfs ok man. make sure that you dont let their insurance guys give you the run around. something simular just happened to my brother and they were like, "you pay for the stuff now, and we'll pay you back." plus, make sure if you go after the guy, that you include what could be long term damages... her pain might go away, who knows if it might come back.

At least everyone is ok and the car was hit in the rear and not the front which makes it easier to put back together. Let's just hope the insurance company gives you a good amount so that what you get from the case becomes "upgrading" money

Well i found a 92 for sale at Anchor subaru i think for like $14,000 i say thats a good market price.

Basicly im gonna tell him to cut me a check for $10,000 leave me the car and get the hell off the property or else i will stab you in the neck and bury you out here. See how he reacts to that.

Glad everyone is ok, sorry to hear it.

BTW, I think Synaptic 3 has a 5 or 6 speed SVX up in NH. If you are really jones'n I'm sure they would sell it.
