Post i'm new to subaru (and) Can. vs U.s.a bumper etc.

hey, i just bought my first Subaru (MY99 2.5RS Rally Blue Pearl) I used to be a honda guy, but i was sick of having no torque or traction i love this thing! anyway, anybody else in northern ontario? actually i think there is only one more 2.5RS in town (it's my twin...same colour and year(i think)... sorry i'm running on here.. i like the us bumper better, does anybody have it? the bigger fog lights look more rally'ish to me. any comments? any 'heads up' on problems or maintenance? thanks

Yea, apparently the Ver. V bumper doesn't meet Canadian crash standards, so if you get into an accident your insurance company might not give you credit. Other than that, its a straight bolt-on (with the US rebar, if not you'll have to cut the Cdn rebar).

Thumbs up

Good job! Subaru's are fantastic!

Heads up problems: AF sensor / ECU. These have become a problem in the more recent models, but some pre-MY00 cars have experienced AF sensor failures as well. If your CE light comes on, that's probably what it is.

I know a few people who've swapped to the US bumper... looks great, but check with your insurance provider (as mentioned earlier). I don't think that many would have a problem with it.

Enjoy your new ride!!
