Default car wont start in the cold

This only happens when temp is below freezing-Forester 2001 automatic wont start. Engine cranks, after several minutes it will finally start. Subaru replaced fuel sensor (but this was not the problem apparently), dealer said everything else checked out fine when this happened last year during winter. Dealer had car for 3 weeks!! (but weather was not below freezing). No problems with warm weather.
Any help is appreciated-

Try stuffing a more powerful battery in it. The stock batteries are nothing to scream about, quite weak in fact, and cold weather slows the reaction down enough to make it hard to start. Either that or get a battery warmer and keep it plugged in.

well i am going to throw a bone out here...try a coolant temp sensor...it sounds to me like the PCM is not giving the car enough cold start enrichment. Whenever we have a hard start when cold it's typically and intermittent problem with the TW(coolant temp) sensor. Might want to suggest they look at that with the car outside and see what the PCM is offereing as injector duty cycles.
