Default Quick questions while the engine is out and i'm replacing the clutch/flywheel

Firstly, should you use locktite on the flywheel bolts? The next question is a bit noobish but.... the panel on the back of the flywheel, what is it's use? Can you remove this for some slight weight reduction? And the last one, are the torque specs on the flywheel bolts the same as the WRX? Thanks for any help !

No, you don't use any locktite on the flywheel bolts. It gums up the threads and screws with the torque spec. Eight bolts at 54 ft. lbs. does the job just fine.

I don't know what your describing when you say "panel on the back of the flywheel". If you want to reduce weight you should get a light weight flywheel.
