Default GrimmSpeed Engine/Power/Exhaust Master Thread

Since i'm sick of closing and starting new threads ALL GrimmSpeed product that is in this category will be put in here. we will continually update the thread.

First off we'll start with todays release of our newest product the GrimmSpeed Up Pipe....

You are looking at the same outstanding quality as our other exhaust pieces. Folks, this is by far the nicest up pipe we've have seen to date(and we've seen almost every other up pipe on the market).

  • massiave SS flanges
  • 35% thicker stainless piping than most competitors(14 gauge v. 16 gauge)
  • +10whp gain
  • minimal internal steps for maximum flow
  • complete stainless steel construction
  • optional ceramic coating
  • weight reduction over stock piece
  • flex joint that is NOT located in the bend which adds life expectancy to the flex section. many other up pipes have a flex right in a sharp bend so all the exhaust/turbulence is hitting up against it.
  • reduce turbo lag
  • increase exhaust flow to turbo

$179.99
http://www.grimmspeed.com/catalog/pr...products_id=77

Adding a non-cat'd up pipe is one of the first things you should do to your Subaru. Arguably one of the best $/HP ratios. Due to emission reasons Subaru has to but very restrictive cats in the exhaust system. With the GrimmSpeed up pipe these cats are eliminated. Another great feature of the GrimmSpeed up pipe is that the inlet is gasket matched so you have a perfectly smoothed out exhaust flow compared to the big step that that tiny stock inlet has.

The GrimmSpeed up pipe is specifically created without an EGT bung. The ecu does not use the egt sensor for air/fuel adjustments. You do not need the egt sensor. If you would like to keep tabs on EGT temperatures the correct place to do it is on the exhaust manifold right after the exhaust ports, this is the only place where the correct temperatures can be taken.

Applications:
02-08 WRX
04-08 STi
04-08 LGT
04-08 FXT
04-08 Baja T

As an option we can treat the pipes with our Ceramic Thermal Coating for $20. Shipping to the lower 48 states will be $10. We also carry the OEMUp pipe gaskets... up pipe>turbo is 14.99 and the manifold>turbo is 15.99. We recommend getting the gaskets to ensure you have a leak free system.

we port down the pipe to flange connection so there is absolutely the smoothest exhaust flow as possible. something the competitors definitely DONT do.

Alright guys, i know its been a few weeks but its about time to release another product

Up until now all of you 06-07 WRX guys have been unable to swap in a higher flowing exhaust manifold crosspipe because Subaru decided to change up the design in those years. Well today is your day, we have created an 06-07 WRX specific HiFlow Crosspipe!!

WHAT IS IT?

This pipe replaces your stock exhaust manifold crosspipe that is very restrictive. 50% of your exhaust gases flow through this pipe so its very important to keep the this pipe flowing efficiently.

WHY ITS THE BEST?

This pipe has the same high quality GrimmSpeed design as the rest of our pipe line up.

-Monster thick pure stainless steel flanges(many companies use mild steel flanges to save money but tend to warp over time)

-304 Stainless steel piping that is perfectly matched up to the gaskets for ultimate flow

-High quality flex joint that we use on all of our pipes with zero cracking issues to date!

-Direct replacement of stock pipe, fits like a charm.

APPLICATIONS?

06-07 Subaru WRX

PRICE?

169.99

WHERE TO ORDER?
http://www.grimmspeed.com/catalog/pr...roducts_id=106

We also offer Ceramic Thermal Coating to keep that heat in the pipe and out of the engine bay. This coating is important on this pipe because it runs very closely to your engine block and oil pan which are things you want to keep as cool as possible. This is only a $20 cost so its well worth the price!

If you need new gaskets we carry RemFlex Graphite Crosspipe Gaskets for 20.00. These are perfect for sealing up the pipe to the exhaust manifold collectors!

And of course, the pictures

Any word on a EWG setup yet?

How much for block to header gaskets, header to up pipe, up pipe to turbo, turbo to downpipe, and downpipe to mid pipe? I've got an up pipe leak and am about to get everything coated and replace these OLD gaskets before the new turbo and other goodies go on.

GrimmSpeed introduces the External Wastegate Up Pipe with 38mm flange.

WHAT IS IT?

An external wastegate allows the exhaust gases to be diverted prior to entering the turbo. Dumping the exhaust gas prior to the turbo helps with boost control, maintains boost longer in the rpm range, and extends the life of your turbo. Our pipe is fully built stainless steel EWG Up pipe and stainless steel dump tube for turbo Subarus. Monster thick SS flanges that will not warp. We have added a flex section which extends the life of the product and will lead to less exhaust leaks
because the pipe can flex vs. warping the flanges in a non-flex setup(inturn creating leaks).

WHY DO YOU NEED IT?
Reason for switching to an EWG setup includes:

Quicker turbo spool by allowing the exhaust gas to exit pre-turbo. There is alot of turbulence in the stock turbo at the internal wastegate so by moving the wastegate out of the turbo you get rid of this nasty turbulence thus improving the effiecency of the turbo as well.
More efficient wastegate design that has a bigger diameter than stock allowing for the exhaust gas to be released quicker.
Hold peak boost longer. This allows you to run a lower peak boost and increase HP at the same time.
Much larger than the stock internal wastegate
No more boost creep...EVER!

GAINS?
Users should expect gains in the 15-40hp range when tuned for the EWG setup.

Another unique aspect of our package is that we include a bracket that holds your stock internal wastegate shut. This is great because you will no longer have to weld your turbo door shut which means you have no chance for leaks and you can revert back to stock anytime you want with no hassle.

Do you know if that beautiful EWG setup will fit on a 4" TurboXS downpipe? I may have to postpone my purchase from P&L to find this out.

Have you even gotten to test fit it on a TurboXS dp yet? If not I know someone that could try it
