First up on the gas pass thread is the new Grimmspeed Up-pipe.

We here at TiC see a lot of parts. A LOT of parts. In fact, we've become kind of jaded in the type of stuff we see since there's a baseline of quality and performance in a part that's needed before we carry it. Every once in a while, not too often, but every so often we run across a part that so far exceeds what we expect out of a quality part that we just sit back and say "WHOA!"

The Grimmspeed up-pipe is one of the those parts. I have confess, I'm having a hard time writing this description because I just can't express in words how blown away I am with this part. Seriously, this blows away ANY other up-pipe we have seen. Period. Bar none. End of story.

Let me break down what we want in an ideal up-pipe and then fill you in on the details.
  • A part that fits like it was meant to go there from the factory.
  • Thick flanges - thick ones stay flatter longer
  • A flex section - we have found that this is actually rather important
  • The flex section down low on the pipe - this allows flow to smooth out a bit before entering the turbo. A flex section at the top is just dumb
  • Smooth bends spread out over as long a distance as possible
  • Consistent inside diameter to smooth flow
  • A nice transition from flange to tube

Now, here's what's on the Grimmspeed unit
  • Beautiful fit
  • Nice flat flanges that are over 11mm thick (stock pipe has 10mm thick)
  • A beautiful flex section that has a nice big ID to it doesn't constrict the tube size. Oh, and it's down really low.
  • Bends that are so smooth and take up almost the entire upper section of the pipe
  • Beautiful transition into the bends due to using a mandrel to shape the tube
  • Transition from flange to tube. THIS part of the Grimmspeed pipe is... well, is just overwhelmingly awe inspiring. Here's what they did - they counterbored into the flange for the tube. That means no step from flange to tube. Incredible.

Oh, and there's one more thing. The welds. Artwork. I'm gonna hire their welder to just run some beads in random patterns on a plate of stainless steel so I can hang it on my wall as art. I'm serious. I'll send you pics once I have it made. These welds are in-flippin-credible.

*Grimmspeed up-pipe comes with 5 nice new studs to use with your, superior to everyone else, up-pipe.

To order your Grimmspeed up-pipe from TiC click here.
The price is $170, and like all goodies you'd get from TiC the shipping is free in the US.

P&L Motorsports 44mm EWG kit

P&L's EWG setup starts off life as a high quality TurboXS up-pipe that has been setup and modified to run a high quality Tial 44MM v-band wastegate. The TurboXS down-pipe (arguably the most difficult to fit an EWG on) was used to finalize the production jig so there would be no fitment issues at all.

We listened to our customers who wanted a high quality unit compatible with the TurboXS downpipe (one of the more widely used units here in the midwest). We selected the TurboXS up-pipe as well due to its extreme high quality, quality control, and availability. Why re-invent the wheel if it's not necessary?

Included:
  • Tial 44MM wastegate
  • Modified TurboXS up-pipe
  • 1 BAR spring
  • V-band clamps
  • Dump tube

The P&L EWG kit is only $749 from Turn In Concepts, and shipping as always is free in the US. You can order up your kit by clicking here.

WRX intercooler hose kit PLUS from TiC

This is the WRX intercooler hose kit. Made from high grade silicone these hoses feature a much smoother inner surface, and a consistent ID on the bends. Both things where the stock hoses fall short.

Lets be honest here. Lots of folks sell these kits, and really you get the same thing from just about everyone in this kit. Here's what you get:
  • Turbo to IC elbow hose
  • IC to throttlebody coupler
  • Bypass valve to intake hose

You may notice that getting it from us is a bit more expensive than getting it from anyone else. That's where the PLUS comes in.

See, if you're anything like us you like to work on your car, and you end up working on it quite a bit. In fact, if you're really anything like us then any time you end up working on the engine you end up taking off the intercooler.

What we have found is that the three most commonly removed clamps are the turbo outlet, and the two IC to throttlebody clamps. We also found that the stock (or even new replacement) worm clamps are JUNK. They wear out, they bind, they rust, and they just plain make life unhappy.

So!! Here's where the plus in our kit comes in. Not only do you get the hose kit that everybody under the sun carries, but we also go a step further and provide replacement clamps for those three commonly removed ones. And they're not sucky worm clamps either. In true TiC fashion we go overboard, and do it up nice. We provide T-bolt clamps. And not just any old run of the mill T-bolt clamps. Oh no, that just wouldn't be our style. We even went beyond that level, and we're hooking you up with spring loaded T-bolt clamps.

What this gets you in a nice consistent clamping pressure loaded through the entire band of the clamp. With just a small amount of torque on the nut you can generate 300 lbs of clamping force. Say good-bye to slipping and blown-off hoses if you're running higher boost than stock. Here's a few other nice features of these clamps:
  • 300 Series Stainless Steel Bands and Trunnions
  • Floating Bridges
  • Superior Two-piece Trunnions
  • Zinc Plated T-Bolts and Nuts
  • One-Piece Springs

These kits are currently in stock using either red or black hoses. Either kit is $150 shipped in the US from TiC.

To order your WRX IC hose kit PLUS in BLACK from Turn In Concepts click here.

To order your WRX IC host kit PLUS in RED from Turn In Concepts click here.

Clamp upgrade set!!

I had a thought - A number of folks out there already have the Samco IC hose sets, but could really use the clamps from the packages above.

Thus I've broken them out into their own package. With it you get 1 clamp for the turbo to elbow connection, and 2 IC to throttlebody clamps.

The clamp kit goes for $35 shipped in the US, and you can pick it up from Turn In Concepts by clicking here.
