Default Andrewtech and Turbo XS GT35R 07 STI Limited 430 pump race inside

Dyno chart added.....videos added....Updated Dyno numbers started on post 185...Link to lots of pictures...http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2470543

Well, I picked my car up last week, I proceeded to put a whole bunch of miles on it, and get it tuned last night by Jermaine at Turbo XS. This time I went a bit further than I had originally planned. I started with an Andrewtech built block which has Mahle pistons, Eagle rods and all new bearings. I upgraded the valve springs and retainers with Prodrive components. I went to a Turbo XS polished GT3582R .82 FMIC kit. They coated the pipes for me, and the new Turbo kit is awesome with the new height of the turbo. I also am running EWG, and for exhaust I am still running the SPT axle back with the Turbo XS Stealth back. We feel that the axle back is holding back some numbers, but the car is quiet. I upgraded the fuel system to Tubo XS Fuel rails, 2 Walbro pumps and 950cc modified injectors. I am still running a UTEC Delta along with most of the little things that really make it work. I have the MAP selector, fuel cut defender, and boost control solenoid.

Last night was a long night on the dyno. We tuned for pump gas, then dumped in some C16 and tuned for race gas. We decided to stop on a very conservative pump gas tune at 430 AWHP. We were making easy power gains up to that point, and decided that it seemed to be a very safe tune since we have yet to road tune it for pump gas. On the pump tune we were making ~25 PSI and figured that would be enough for the daily driving that I do.

As for the race gas tune, I still had a quarter tank of 93, so I put 10 gallons of C16 in there to get a decent octane. We figure that we had about 5 gallons of 93 left in the tank, so ~108 octane is what we were working with. We were facing a couple small issues with running the race gas. My SPT axleback is somewhat choking compared to other mufflers out there, and when we were on the dyno we were only able to get to 29.5 PSI. We were making 516 AWHP at that point, and Jermaine said that there just is no more boost on the dyno. He then took it out for a road tune and was able to get boost holding at a little over 31PSI on the road tune.

I plan to go to M.I.R. this weekend for the Imports vs. Domestics race. I plan to compete in the true street class, and I hope to qualify without running faster than 11.5 (no cage). I will run as fast as I have to to get through the class, but I am worried that I will have to run faster and get kicked off the track to win. We'll see how things go, but I am excited. The ride home last night was incredible.

I made an easy launch/test pass for the 1/8th mile on my G-timer just to get an idea of where I am at and I ran 7.7 @ 93 with a 1.8 60 ft. My 0-60 was 3.7 even with the weak launch. I also let off at the end since my top speed during the run was 95.6. I am definitely ready to run it hard tomorrow.

I should get to the track around 8:00 and I hope to be ready for the first time trial as soon as they are ready to call my group. I'll be in the true street class which is 12.99 and faster with a maximum turbo size of 67mm. I hope I qualify without going too fast and getting kicked off for no cage.

Well, racing at the track was a bust. I think I got some bad race gas from the pump at the track. I was sputtering and popping at the top of each gear, and could not make a good run. It didn't help that I only got two runs and they were 3 hours apart. I am going to take it by the shop and have them check it out, and maybe adjust the tune and get back to the track in 2 weeks.

They do sell Torco C16 at M.I.R.
I may have to take you up on that if they are still open on the 24th. I'll be out of town the next two weekends.

Actually, I don't think they sell VP C16 @ MIR. They sell Torco Mach 116 ... not the same though! Bring fuel with you!

Damn, those numbers are freaking IDENTICAL to mine! Andrewtech / TurboXS at it again. I did 431 on pump and 517 on race with an Ultimate Racing T3/T04S (.82) kit. Hell, I even had the same problem with my race tune. 1/4 tank fo pump and about 4 gallons of C16. How do you like the turbo blanket? Andrew was supposed to send me one a while ago but never did. He doesn't return phone calls either. *cough cough*

Look forward to seeing your track times. With the 07 gears and 516 WHP, you should have no problems breaking 10's. I'm stuck at 11.36 @ 126.5 with the 05 gears and a 1.8 60'.

The run was 13.0 @110, 2.2 60 ft, 8.5 at the 1/8th @ 83, not a great indicator of what this car will do once we make some minor adjustments. I was on and off the gas about 5 times during the run.

Yeah that's definately nowhere near where you should be, at least you didnt have to worry about getting kicked off the track tho.. Something is up with the tune or you have a boost leak somewhere or SOMETHING because your MPH is horrible for the amount of power you're making.

Doug and I raced at Crapital a long time ago and he used the Cam 2 race gas at the track. His car ran like crap up top. He was tuned by Nathan and Phil on VP C-16. Different gases have different burn points, gravity ..... I have raced at M.I.R and had to bring C-16 because they did not sell it at the time.

Also Vac lines, or poor grounds have been known to crap out up high.

Sounds like boost spike / fuel cut. Did you log the runs?

Mine did something similar last time I was at the track. It overboosted to 34 PSI and fell on it's face once in one run and twice in another run. The second run was still an 11.4. If it wouldn't have crapped out, I think it would have been 11.2 or better. It happened somewhere past 5800 or so. Just felt like it ran out of gas. Completely fell on it's face.
