I'll get them to you guys soon! I recently had a fight with a curb and had to repair it As of right now im trying to figure out what will work as far as lowering is concerned. I have been tempted to go with lowering springs but have heard bad horror stories about how weak the 08 2.5i struts are and am concerned with blowing a strut due to stiffer springs. That leads me to coilovers...what fits? 08 wrx coilovers? if i can get away with just lowering springs i will. thoughts?

Stock struts with aftermarket springs = bad
WRX struts with aftermarket springs = marginally better, but still bad
$1000 coilovers = generally bad for DD use

If you're willing to spend the $$$ for coilovers, why not consider the Bilstein/RCE Yellow set up that was made for the WRX? (Still works on the 2.5i) It's expensive, but it's a damn good set up.

^^^Don't forget about Koni's. However, this requires hacking up your front struts or sourcing an additional pair. Koni's have adjustablility and provides some flexibility with spring choices.

I have 09 wrx struts with rallitek lowering springs on my 08 2.5i, and i love em for dd. No complaints, car handles alot better, and the stance works with larger wheels. Still have a wheel gap when i run my 16" winter set up, but with 18"s they look great. I do need to get my rear fenders rolled however

im currently looking for front lip options, and i've considered your setup before but have never seen good enough pics online for me to actually purchase this lip on the non-premium bumper. Please do post pics once you get that lip repaird :P where did you buy the lip and how much did it cost ya?

3" SRS N1 Style Catback. I think it sounds pretty good. Other people have said it is the best exhaust for our cars. I have heard that some people think that it drones too much and sounds bad.

^^ I can see why some would say it drones, but I don't think it's bad at all. Sounds good!

I'm sure some of you bought your 2.5is without fogs. Has anyone purchased any aftermarket ones or know of quality kind that fits the housing?

^^ I think that is what he means when he says, "aftermarket".

Plus, at $250+ the factory fogs are expensive.

I have some projectors that I crammed into the holes.

I admit, they need some refinement, I'm working on it.

hey thanks for the lowering feedback guys. I've decided to go with these...

http://www.corsportusa.com/store/cat...oducts_id=3295

as far as the lip, i recently went on to the site that retails it and it seems theyve stopped making them. i bought mine off ebay but its made by a company called blacktop aero. i payed roughly 140. it retails at 250. ive been considering getting a new lip tho. possibly this...

do you guys think this would fit? i'd chance it

oh one last thing regarding fog lights. ATTENTION!!! WHATEVER YOU DO.. DO NOT BUY AFTERMARKET FOGS!!!! i've been to hell and back with the ones i have. i got them off of ebay from a company that shall remain nameless....they are no longer are in business and that says it all...ive had to buy new fuses, bulbs and new wiring time and time again. I eventually got so frustrated i ended up purchasing a second set as backup. all in all i've spent 300+ maintaining the damn things!!! GET OEM FOG LIGHTS AND BITE THE BULLET. THANK ME LATER.

That's good advice. I like to.. shop the market.. I've made my fair share of rash decisions. And I'm sure the oem fogs are spectacular, at least on my foz they seem damn fine. But I was trying to steer clear of the $250 plus category if it can be done, WITHOUT sacrificing QUALITY.

True, but they are plug and play and you also get a replacement signal stalk so you get the OEM switch. OBS comes with the so I never saw that cost. Aftermarket's aren't that hard to wire up, but if I was doing it myself, the OEM would be worth it for the fitment and the ease of install.

If you do go aftermarket, make sure you buy from a reputable company: Hella, PIAA, KC...one of the companies that has been making fog and driving lights for years. Search the boards and read the lighting thread in the electrical forum for ideas about brands and types of lights.

If all you want is to have a light in that stock location that other people will see for show, you can probably get away with a cheapo-light. If you want something more functional, then do some research. You also may find that if you just want better lighting, in general, a higher quality headlight bulb will make all the difference you need, and they are much cheaper than a set of fogs.

Oh its not just for show either. Its not a honda or a cavalier.

We get decent amount of fog and I drive about 40 miles to work. Safetys important. I'm gonna look further into this topic, I'm sure lighting thread will have more opinions.

Thanks for the help guys/ girls. nice 2.5i's.

Should be fine. You may need to roll your fenders depending on how big of a tire you put on there. But with such a high offset, they should fit. I would be a little worried about inner clearance.

So far from what I can tell, the 2.5i has the same fender and suspension sizing as the WRX, if a WRX can run it, a 2.5i can too.

has anyone put an 08+ sti hatch spoiler on a 08+ 5door 2.5i?
I'm waiting for my 2011 2.5i to arrive at the dealer this month and one of the things I'm going to get is an sti spoiler so I was wondering if anyone else has done it since I haven't seen any pictures of that, if so is it hard to do? etc?

There are a couple of Outback Sports in the OBS Picture thread with the STI spoiler.

You can also try googling it. I found a DGM 2.5i with the sti spoiler and it looks good. I want to do it too but the cost would be pretty high unless you got one from someone who is selling theirs off their car.

Not really, unpainted ones are under $300 I think from Subaru

Yea I agree with Jourdan. You're looking at close to 500 for a spoiler. If I found a painted one around 200-250 I'd go for it but otherwise my money can be spent in better places.
