Default need help. will all this stuff fit?

hey everyone,

im making up a small xmas list to give to my family and im looking at a couple things that "dont" fit on my stock 05 RS wagon.....

replica v-limited lip (who makes/sells the best?? gruppe-s??)
sti splitters

side note: RA flaps and sti fog covers

will these fit on my car or do i have to find wagon specific stuff? i know the splitters fit with some work to it (how?), but what about the lip??

My original guess is that the v-lip would fit your wagon, but after checking out some ebay posts, you may want to look into some manufacturers and contact them first. it says on 2 v-limited replica lips that you NEED to have the sti front splitters, and both say that it WONT fit the wagon. It looks to me like the bumper is a little more rounded inward on the wagon as you can see from the pics. in that case it would be a touch matchup. best bet, get a wagon specific lip.

As far as brand goes, i have no idea. Just make sure that you get one that isnt fiberglass, OEM plastic would be best. From my experience with fiberglass accessories on my old prelude, it cracks easily, and weather can greatly effect how it holds up as well(cold and hot shifts). Especially if your car is lowered, you may either want to raise it up, or you just need to me SUPER careful around high curbs and speed bumps. It would be really unfortunate to get a new front lip and have it get damaged. My front bumper got all ****ed up on my prelude so I know how that feels, lol. I hope that this helped you a little bit.

Final comment: Contact any company that you're thinking of purchasing from and ask them if it would fit, and if not, ask them why it wont fit. It could just be that the bolts just dont line up or something. make sure that you do some homework before you invest in parts that you're not sure about fitment.

I read another member's post a few days ago and yes, you would need the STI splitters to make the lip work.

There's a catch though. The splitters are made for the slightly wider WRX/STi front bumper cover and so you would have to make some modifications to the splitters to make them fit. Take a look at this post: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=442471

Also, since the cover on the WRX/STi is slightly wider, or conversely, the wagon cover is slightly less wide, you will have to "finesse" the lip to fit. Meaning, you would mount the lip starting from the center out, but you would only install the first 3 or 5 center/front bolts before you drill any other holes to the underside of the bumper cover.

Then you would have to "pull" either side of the lip more inward and "eyeball" it and make it line-up.

I would recommend that if you get a lip, get one that is made of urethane because it's flexible and maintains it's shape. Fiberglass will crack and plastic is not that flexible.

Also, and no insult intended, get a replica lip. I got the V-Limited replica for about $210 (excluding shipping) and I painted it with black chip-guard to both have a wrinkle finish to it and so that it doesn't chip. Why? I could not see spending $500 or more for an original that sits at the bottom front of the vehicle whereby it is more likely to be damaged from a curb, driveway entrance/exit, debris on the road, chunks of ice on the road, etc.

I've also used chip-guard before to do similar finishes and have had no problems and like the way it looks. You, of course, can also get gloss/matte/flat black or paint it to match and you can also buy the metal emblem to stick onto the front so it looks "real".

I hope that this helps.
