Default 5 Speed Interchangability

I am really in a state of confusion over what transmissions will work in my car. I get that the FD needs to match up (3.9 in my case) but they all have different numbers and I'm not sure if they'll work or not. My 1998 Impreza OBS 5 speed broke, and I need a replacement quick, but I'm not exactly sure what to look for. The number is TY752VA5AA. Will anything fit up or specific models or ??? Is there a simple answer for this old guy? Thanks-

Rear diff ratio + front and transfer gear ratio= the trans that works for your car.
Ie 02 wrx 3.90 front, 1.1-1 transfer, 3.54 rear diff.
